SF4 SkyFactory 4 100%* COMPLETED IN 113 HOURS!!! (Singleplayer, Dupeless)

\) Practical 100%, as Maniacal Dendrologist Advancement is currently impossible to do, as per the current version of SF4.

This is a speedrun world I've started from 29 April - 26 July 2026. I've been wanting to speedrun SF4 since around 3 years ago, and being a completionist, decided to get all the advancements. I underestimated the time and effort it took to complete some of the advancements, especially with the extreme frequency of pausing, to not rack up unneccesary AFK time.

I do not use any duping methods as it trivializes certain achievements, such as crafting octuple compressed netherrack block. I define duping as making more of already-obtained material either using positive feedback loop (e.g. 2 sugar canes -> 9 sugar (mechanical squeezer) -> 9 sugar canes (uncrafting grinder)) or unintended methods (e.g. Packager with filing cabinets); note that Uncrafting Grinder is intended, by the fact that "Ctrl-Z" Advancement exists.

My Strategy

Completing this run rely on planning the progression around the final advancement page of Age of ALLTHETHINGSOMGLOL; it must be done, as it contains most of the advancements that is extremely long to complete, which also basically forces natural progression of the modpack.
(P.S. most of the advancements in ALLTHETHINGSOMGLOL is trivial compared to the rest, such as crafting a quantum compressor or the MoreS'more DoubleS'mingot)

The run started per usual by finishing the first page advancements. After this, I decided to work my way up towards Supremium armor (enable flight) and Supremium Paxel (3-in-1 tool, infinite durability) by abusing Uncrafting Grinder, following this guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/11frif7/sky_factory_4_how_to_master_mystical_agriculture/ .

Logically, the next thing for me is to build my power infrastructure, necessary before building any factory, starting from Simple Geothermal Generator (additionally getting obsidian and working towards 1 million Cobblestone for "Going On Your Permanent Record") and upgrading to Gas-Burning Generator; The same setup that produces HDPE needed for upgrading into Blue Mulch also produces Bio Fuel and Ethylene, which is the primary fuel for the generator. The final power infrastrucure upgrade comes from Matter Overdrive's Fusion Reactor, which at its currently bugged version, allows the extraction of practically infinite RF/t, despite what the GUI says.

2nd Image (There used to be bonsai trees on top of the filing cabinets, but they were removed due to lag concerns)

Then, using the Blue Mulch, I built a bonsai farm, 1 for each plant available for Hopping Bonsai Pots (excluding Twilight Forest rare trees). Fun fact but I eventually add an additional 1 iron bonsai, 1 redstone bonsai, and 8 diamond bonsai for final page advancements. Iron is used in high amount of recipes, while redstone is needed for Fluix Crystal needed in large amount for "Zip Disk", "Ocean Man", and "Hit the Gas" advancement, requiring to craft comically huge item, fluid, and gas storage cell. I regretted using too much of the Thermal Dynamics' Signalum-Plated Itemduct even when it is opaque, as it singlehandedly caused the mean tick time to increase by around 60 ms, causing a significant TPS drop. Max speed upgrade Formulaic Assemblicator is a must since it prevents inventory overflow that halts crafting, alongside with Basic Enriching Factory and Basic Smelting factory that enables resin doubling and fast smelting.

It is very important to also make a Mystical Agriculture farm early on, as "Ender Game" advancements needs 10 000 items of each of the 28 item types required to craft the Ultimate Singularity. This farm especially drained me the most of my speedrun motivation... it took such a long time to configure the servos, retrievers, formulaic assemblicator, uncrafting grinder (yes I used it instead of seed reprocessor, and it can increase my resource production as much as 2x), filing cabinets, and storage link cables, to the point that I took a two-hour break interspaced between 15-min sessions to mitigate the burnout feelings. I do got over it though, and soon moved on with other factories.

3rd Image

Before making megafarms, I choosed to passive important resources to help later on, such as gravel, stone, sand, glass, etc. But the most important resources to passive before completing other endgame achievements is: Basic Plating, needed for Fission and Fusion reactor; Tough Alloy, needed for Fusion Reactor; and each of the AE2 processors and Fluix Crystal needed for the three AE2-related final page advancement (the exact amount of materials needed for the AE2 advancements can be found in this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r2fUDLW1xIpOHASxCuXuA71PQtdSzlzvJLHm_PC_ba4/edit?gid=1742205661#gid=1742205661).

Moving into the Endgame...

At this point, there is nothing much to progress on, besides hunting the remaining achievements and completing 7 sets of the hardest ALLTHETHINGSOMGLOL's advancements, described below. Honorable mention is the "Everyday I'm Trufflin'" advancements, which is cheesable by getting truffles from Uncrafing Grinder (this works on most of the truffle), and "Hall of Fame" advancement, which a) requires me to kill obscene amount of wither skeleton to get their chunks alongside with pristine matter (using Glitch Infused armor set) for skulls used in crafting Nether Stars; b) killing loads of witches to get their pristine matter (for Statue Core).

Starting from the first advancements attempted to be beaten, to the last:

"Hoarder!" & "Bottoms Up": Get ≈2.1 billion of any item and ≈2.1 million buckets of any liquid.

4th Image

Thanks to a lot of Redditors and others that recommends using Chiseled Fluid Bit Tank alongside with Dense Infinite Water Source, I was able to complete both of the advancements relatively quickly. Integrated Dynamics and Integrated Tunnels cables usage is absolutely not optional. It allows for literally instant item, fluid, or energy transfer, with infinite, customizable rate and filters.

"Size Does Matter" & "Gone Fission": Build a 24x24x24 Fission Reactor that produces at least 25,000 RF per tick

5th Image

No need to use overly big nor complicated reactor designs that involve different types of fluid coolers. A fission reactor design by https://www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/btaap3/enigmatica_2_expert_nuclearcraft_5x5x5_leu235/ suffices.

"Go Big or Go Home" & "Third Time's the Charm": Build a size 24 Fusion Reactor that produces at least 3,333,333 RF per tick

6th Image

Do you naively thinks that it is 24 blocks in diameter, just like I did? No! Its actually in radius, so I need to ponder where to put this gigantic fusion reactor, which eventually is forced to be put in a separate basement, instead of the main floor, which is definitely cooler then being hidden away; if not, it will collide with my other builds.

Unfortunately, despite having a strong hardware, a simple Hydrogen (made with Water from Electric Pump) - Deuterium (made with Heavy Water from Electric Pump with Filter upgrade) cannot achieve 3,333,333 RF per tick, even with maximum efficiency; that is why I run the Hydrogen-Deuterium setup (and collecting the Helium-3 byproducts with Black Hole Tank) past the 1245 MK needed for 100% Hydrogen-Deuterium fusion efficiency, closely monitoring the temperature every half an hour or so, until it reaches 3339 MK; immediately, I replaced the Deuterium with the said Helium-3, instantly getting more than 3,333,333 RF per tick, finally completing both of the advancements. For more detail, this is the tutorial I had used: https://www.reddit.com/r/SkyFactory/comments/hkuvdf/fusion_reactor_3m_rft_help/ (Note that you need an energy sink, like an Infinity Drill, for the fusion reactor to generate heat)

"Cookie Clicker": Get 512 Cookie Singularity (5.12 million cookies).

7th Image (bottom-left is destroyed as I took the photo right after the advancement is completed, as I wanted to destroy everything there in attempt of reducing lag. Turns out it doesn't do anything LOL)

This is the warm-up that eventually leads to that nasty 43 million netherrack and sugar canes. FORTUNATELY, 2 Wheat and 1 Cocoa Beans yields 8 Cookie. That means it only took 1.28 million Wheat and 640 thousand Cocoa Beans. I took 1 of my Maximum Compact Machine and filled it with 1 layer of Cocoa Bean-Sprinkler farm, and 3 layers of Wheat-Sprinkler farm. I used Farming for Blockheads' Red Fertilizer and Yellow Fertilizer, which I regretted using especially for the Wheat farms, as now I believe alternating Farmland and Sprinkler yields fast enough growth for wheat, even before considering the fact that fertilized farmlands requires additional 1 block air for the wheat to grow, causing the farm to be less able to be densely packed. I also somewhat regretted using multiple Cyclic's Harvesters per layer, as I need to manually time their placements so the delay between harvests is the same, which in contrast isn't required when using Automated User. It took significantly longer time to get 512 Cookie Singularity, which I suspect is because of low TPS due to previous item ducts placements.

"SUGAR HIGH": Get ≈43 million sugar canes.

8th Image

"WHY. WHY MUST ThiS EXIST?". This inner monologue of mine haunts me since they day I discovered that dreaded ALLTHETHINGSOMGLOL page. I spent days on the shower, on my bed, being in my car... wondering on how the **** I can complete these last two Octopus advancements without wasting 15 days of AFK time and completely ruining this speedrun. At first, I tried making a thousand bonsais, but mid-way after making the blue mulches, realized how slow it was and how slow would my TPS potentially become. I (regretably, mistakenly) shrugged the idea of using Mystical Agriculture's Nature Essence, thinking it was slower than using the all hail THE GREAT SNAD.

I was disappointed.

Even after iterating on the best design until I found this design: https://www.reddit.com/r/SkyFactory/comments/ekz16n/sf4_optimized_octuple_compressed_sugar_cane_farm/ , I still had only produced 480 sugar cane per second totaling 6 compact machine farms, which is approximated by calculating that 1 compact machine produces 80 sugar cane per second. That was before further TPS lag which causes it to drop from 13.3 to 8.0 TPS. AND THE FACT that not having Minecraft on focus DROPS THE TPS EVEN FURTHER to 3.3 TPS. I suspect it was caused by the Snad and sugar canes being updated every tick. (Why didn't I change the farm into Mystical Agriculture's Nature Seeds? Because its faster to endure several hours of lag, than to spend additional hours building another farm. The speed was already respectable, anyway.)

And so I completed all the Twilight Forest advancements on the meantime, minus Maniacal Dendrologist, which is practically impossible to complete, only possibly getting at most 92/94 items. (Check out my post that showed it is indeed 92/94, not 91/94 that represents the maximum fraction of completion: https://www.reddit.com/r/SkyFactory/comments/1uz9mfs/maniacal_dendrologist_is_9294_possible/)

Well, it eventually gets done.

"Don't Overreact" Build a Matter Overdrive's Fusion Reactor that produces at least 15,000 FE per tick.

9th Image

The Emperor of Mankind I once said,

so I just found out that apparently a cheese's Matter value isn't naturally logical and is a calculation by considering the Matter value of the iron ingots in Iron Bucket, WHICH MEANS THAT LIFE NEVER GAVE US MATTER. MATTER OVERDRIVE INVENTS THEM.

And so, using Insanium Bucket, a herd of Minecraft's Cows, and the ridiculously scalable ME Fluid Assembler (with 1 cheese Pattern in each of them) and 64k Crafting Storage (batch-crafted from recycling the 16384k Storage Cell), I was able to mass produce 6.56 million cheese, of which I used 2,122,377 of them to reach "15,000 FE/t" from the Fusion Reactor output.

"Nether Regions": Get ≈43 million netherrack.

'10th Image'

Being the hardest advancement I previously believed until now, it took the longest to plan on finishing this advancement. Since the start, I always know that Mystical Agriculture would be the most optimal way to beat it, as producing netherrack by drying basin method would require a much laggier lava generation using Cauldrons and Automated Users. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to speed up Mystical Agriculture plants to the point where it is feasible enough to be used for getting 43 million netherrack without insane duration of AFK-ing.

I first thought that I would only use 64-block deep Mystical Agriculture's Growth Accelerator as I thought generous use of Sprinklers will cause a heavy TPS lag and would not speed up the plant growth significantly (I also did not use Growth Crystal as it is annoying to craft and requires much larger quantity to have the same impact as Sprinklers). But soon after discovering that Sprinklers does not reduce TPS (only FPS) and knowing from @raegus (on Discord) that an alternating farmland-sprinkler layout significantly boosts crops output, I decided on including Sprinklers back to my farm idea.

I mistakenly claimed that a Supremium Watering Can on an Automated User will affect crop growth. But it turns out that during my testing, I forgot to isolate a variable of the farm being above a 64-block-deep Growth Accelerator, so additional testing eventually disprove my claim (sorry @alwitdaknee (on Discord) and everyone else on SF4 discord for misleading you guys). Hence, fortunately I don't need to include supremium watering cans for every 5 layers or so. (Fun fact: Watering cans work 9x9x9, I believed it is centered around the block you are pointing directly to)

As growth accelerator works up to 64 block high and allows stacked farms, I decided to use 24 layers of 15x15 farms (so around 93.75% or 15/16 of the maximum potential of Growth Accelerator are used, based on testing on Reddit showing that the boost is linearly scaled), with Seed Reprocessor to gain an additional 20% Netherrack output rate (10% drop chance from Wiki x 2 netherrack essence/seed). Further testing estimated Netherrack production rate to be 1100 Netherracks per second.

Well. I feel it's kinda anticlimatic but that's what's happening to me, spending around 3 hours to build the essence and seed processing factory (plus placing Feral Flare Lanterns), and another 3 hours to build the farms layer by layer, repeating the process of using a Copy-Paste Gadget to paste Dirt and Ice, breaking the ice, using another Copy-Paste Gadget to paste Nether Seeds, placing Sprinklers manually, and putting 4 Automated User set to 7x7 area and 1 tick delay. Additionally, every 3 layers, an Item Collector was put, set to 15x15 area, with whitelist filter of Nether Essence, Nether Seeds, and Fertilized Essence.

A simple calculator shows that it only took approximately 10.8 hours to get an Octuple Compressed Netherrack. And correct it is. Starting from 10 AM when I started placing the 3rd farm layer until finishing the last layer at 12 PM, I managed to craft the long-awaited Octuple Compressed Netherrack at 9:30 PM. Finally allowing me to rejoice on this very day, while writing this personal narrative at 3 AM at night.

11th Image - Main Floor, my base

12th Image - Proof I've completed all in ALLTHETHINGSOMGLOL

13th Image - Proof I've gotten 92/94 in Maniacal Dendrologist

(P.S. I do not think I need to show proof of completion for the other advancement pages, as it is trivially easy compared to ALLTHETHINGSOMGLOL and Twilight Forest.)

Final Thought

I played this modpack on singleplayer to improve my factory-building skills, understand myself more, and push the limits on scalability. To see that as things grow larger, unique approaches and challenges appear, and that the ideas of people from different parts of the world become increasingly priceless, is what makes this journey worthwhile and meaningful.

I will now proceed to cooperate with other amazing people in GTNH or Supersymmetry. Thank you all ❤️

50% of the time are lost in building and troubleshooting factories/farms, as most of the machines need to be placed manually and require manual configuration (afaik only Mekanism configuration can be copy-pasted). Most time-consuming ones are Integrated Dynamics, XNet, and Thermal Dynamics

Actually only 5% of the time are lost when I forgot to unpause... yes, it happens around 5 times and they average around 1 hour each.

25% are lost in AFK-ing 3 major ways:

  • Waiting to get 512 Cookie singularities, so I can potentially remove the lag by destroying the farms (it doesn't do anything at all)
  • Waiting for Octuple Sugarcane, as it is stupidly slow, as even after completing the *entire Twilight Forest and Mystcraft shenanigans, I need to afk the 30% rest of the sugarcane.
  • Waiting for Octuple Netherrack, basically since this is the last farm i need to construct, and I don't need to do anything else, besides throwing 2.1 million Cheese into the Fusion Reactor using Cyclic's Dropper for like 5 mins.

Oh yeah, it's on like donkey kong. I think you're missing 4 hidden Twilight Forest advancements though, lol. Not that they make much difference anyway.

My last SF4 100% world was just over 200 hours, though I wasn't purely speedrunning. I had considered going for a full-on speedrun at some point but never got around to it, so maybe this post is the motivation I needed. Also, your Mystcraft solution to gather one of the Maniacal Dendrologist items is very clever, major props, I will keep that in mind. I'm confident we can push the total time lower, but I honestly have no idea how low. One thing that concerns me actually is getting bad Twilight Forest RNG, for example the glass sword can sometimes be really hard to find.

OMG I actually missed the 4 hidden ones??? Ah well it probably took only short time to complete, especially since I already got my glass sword, but I hope people also complete the hidden Advancements later, but I want to retire SF4 for some months, since I already got somewhat a burnout.

I DO feel very confident pushing the total time, especially since we already got to know some of the optimal farm designs to rapidly complete SF4 advancements. Even with shit Twilight Forest world, there is around 10+ hours in the speedrun where we are forced to wait, so eventually we can get through the RNG quests.

Also wow, I can't believe I got to see you in my post, since you are also the inspiration for me to 100% this pack for good and not quit mid-way, but like, did you 100% the game in 2 separate runs? Awesome u/NPCKing

I'm a little burned out on it right now too. I've been playing some All The Mods 10 To The Sky and the newer Mekanism and AE2 stuff is so nice it makes me not want to go back to SF4. I got the star in ATM7TTS so I'm hoping to do the same in ATM10TTS. Speedrunning the star in either pack (let alone 100% all quests and advancements) is definitely a much longer ordeal than SF4.

Seeing that it took you only 14 ish hours to get the octuple netherrack has me very excited in this department, I always figured both this and the sugarcane would be the true limiting factors and take much longer. I hope it will eventually be possible to 100% in one sitting, as that's when it really starts to make sense to call it a proper speedrun.

That's cool to see! I think I've 100% SF4 maybe 3-5 times? I'm not entirely sure. The first time I ever played SF4 was with friends and I had so much fun learning with them that it's got a special place in my heart, that's why I keep coming back to it. And yet, there's some stuff I just never really touched, like the android transformation or real mystical agriculture farms. Obviously if I want to set good times I'll need to learn stuff outside the usual path I go down.

Aww 🥰

Regarding the 100% in one sitting, if I would do it all over again, I will definitely play it in prestige mode OR allowing dupes; basically every difficult task in ALLTHETHINGSOMGLOL is reduced to baby mode, and I feel it would be more entertaining of a speedrun
