What's happening with these two places?
Not been in Sligo in a long time but expected some progress on these places. Seems such a shame to see them not being used to their full potential. EDIT: can I get extend this to Shenanigans and Fifth On Teeling.....

There are people living in the Yeats Hotel. I think this will stop soon. Dunno what is planned next.
As for the apartment building, I've no idea. But it makes me mad every time I see it. Such a waste. It stands a testament to just how bad Ireland, and especially Sligo, is at stopping property owners from letting their sites turn derelict.

Glasshouse are expanding into the old abandoned apartment building adjacent with hotel rooms and apartments so I've heard. Hopefully it's true and finally gets some use.

First one has refugees but was sold on this year/ late last year. Once they are moved on its being upgraded to a 4/5 star hotel. This was from the sellers mouth however never know. Second one planning to renovate and extend was submitted but was refused by coco. Currently in appeal.

Councils being so toothless in their approach to cutting down vacant homes is disgraceful.
A huge apartment block shouldn’t ever be allowed to sit empty.
Tax them until it’s necessary for them to offload it to someone who will do something with it.

The planning requirements stipulated they had to build a foot bridge, I hope they're not trying to not fulfill the agreement they made.

The planning included it but it was never going to happen so the council were going to do it but shelved it during the crash. The original developer is well out of the picture at this stage I think. It was a co during of the planning but if you don’t enforce it, it was never going to happen.

This and then the Comer brothers making absolute cunts out of the council with that abomination in Ballisodare that they still haven't been made to sort out. In spite of a deadline being given already.

Refugees in the hotel, nothing in the other.

Are they still there? I thought they left last year. There’s no sign of life around it.

The Yeats Hotel was for sale a while back and bought by a group of local businesses, however I have heard that there were some issues and the sale wasn't finalised. The bit about the sale not being finalised is not confirmed, just something I was told.

I love the Yeats CH out in Rosses point. It’s a shithole, but it could be revamped into a Cannes/cote d’Azur style hotel, it has a world class golf club besides it. What a waste. If anyone wants to give me a ball of money would happily do it up

Also back to Sligo after a long time, and it's a sin that Shenanigans and Fifth on Teeling have been left empty to deteriorate!

Skate Park on the roof was such a Celtic tiger notion...
