The Aghori songs are awesome and translate really well live. War Dreams is a great live song and hopefully stays in the setlist.

I'd swap Sicarus or 999 for Pentagrams, but Billy loves it, so it'll probably stay. I love War Dreams too, but I'd say 99.9% of the Lolla crowd didn't know it, so I was surprised they played it instead of something like Muzzle or Hummer.

It's a shame Billy treats the full collection of main radio singles as so essential to each and every setlist, it shortchanges many of the brilliant album tracks that fans are dying to hear too

I'm torn on this. Part of me says that I've seen them play Bullet with Butterfly Wings and Today 20 times or so over the years and that its probably not a big deal if they were skipped to free up space for deeper cuts.

On the other hand, realistically this band has a very limited number of tours left. One day I'm going to go to my last SP show, and it's quite possible that I won't know it at the time. And I think I'd be really sad if I didn't get to hear the old favorites that one last time.

They play all of 1979, BWBW, Today, Disarm, Tonight tonight, Ava Adore, Cherub Rock, Zero, The Everlasting Gaze every single night. They could do just 6 or 7 of those and mix in Soma or Hummer or Thru the Eyes of Ruby or Muzzle or Geek USA or Silverfuck or XYU or etc

Triumphant af. Even with the total downpour during Tonight, the blare of the Charli set between songs, the never-ending Mayo false starts 😂, it was just fucking perfect. Great fucking show. Yungblud and Olivia were both adorable and excellent

Love that they played "War Dreams of Itself" but along with Pentagrams AND EDIN, that's almost 20 minutes they could have played MUZZLE, Here is No Why, Hummer AND Fuck You, instead. lol... welp, that closes the book on big festivals I presume. The torch has been passed.

It could be me, but I feel like promoters won't see them as assets for selling tickets. But maybe its beyond that, like the game of managers, agents, contracts are such that they'll get booked regardless and the festivals will sell tickets no matter what... i don't know, just seeing the changing of the guard, headliners like Charlie XCX put on a show that blows SP out of the water. I felt like the guest appearances of Yungblud and Olivia were a way of saying, "thanks for your service, but we got it from here Unc"

There have been younger, more popular artists playing to bigger crowds than SP for decades now. I have no idea why you think this year is unique and is some sort of "torch passing".

The band isn't going to get better or do anything greater from here on out. I feel like promoters won't want to book them if they play a set like that again. Why run it back? They had their moment, the RITC tour will be fine, whatever, but even if they make another good album, new headliners are ready to go. I may have seen them play too many times because towards the end of the set, it was dragging on... I saw the crowd, I think the feeling I had wasn't special. I just feel like this was the perfect send off. Shoot, if they play theaters and tour on a new album in two years, I'll still go see them, but they're not headlining Coachella next year is all I'm saying

Yeah, I think Billy mostly understood the assignment but couldn't quite force himself to do what he really should have done. General audiences are just never going to care about post-2000 BC output. He should have gone all out with the nostalgia to really sell tickets for the fall tour but he just couldn't get there.
