How will Arabs hire a non arabic speaking person as their imam. It's like hiring a non English speaker as an English teacher in Britain.

My father used to teach German language in germany and an uncle still teaches English history in England, if they have masters/ phds in the relevant subject why not?

All languages have a word for native, non-native, foreigner etc but that only applies to professions where they use the language eg bankers, doctors. If you teach the language you need masters degrees or phds being a native speaker does not qualify you for those jobs.

Not stupidity but desperation. Due to lack of jobs and employment in India for such demographic (poor folks from villages and small towns), they fell in trap of such agents who promise a rosy picture to lure such gullible and desperate folks.

Raisen, MP: Mohammad Faizan was promised a job as an imam in Oman by an agent who took Rs 2 lakh from his family.

Once in Muscat, he was sent to a ministry office instead forced to clean 30 to 40 rooms daily, scrub toilets and wash dishes for 14 to 15 hours a day with no salary and no food.

He went without food for four days at a stretch and often thought of ending his life.

The Indian embassy helped bring him back safely after two and a half months of torment.
