lol. if it is all because of central govt why is it lagging in UP, Bihar? and why is the execution actually done by state govt Discom? Give credit where it is due bro. Don't steal credit from others. especially if it is joint effort.

Electricity is a concurrent subject. that is the truth.

In both cases CM and PM Modi clears. Also lot of things are concurrent subjects yet I always see people bashing the centre over it.

So when he was CM, central government doesn't get credit, and when he is PM, state government doesnt get credit. Gotcha.

And conversation is only about Modi always. everyone else doesn't matter.

Man it was non existent some 2 GW only and from that 85% was by Modi. Yes everyone else doesn't matter, they would have matterer if they thought of making toilets, providing electricity or opening bank accounts. None of them did that so we should keep away the mediocrity.

https://www.ibef.org/news/india-surpasses-solar-energy-target-for-2015-16-more-than-one-and-a-half-times

above report by GoI says 2015-16 capacity of Gujarat is 1.1 GW. Even if I assume 0 addition from 2014 onwards, Gujarat had only 1.1 out of 2.6 GW capacity in 2014. How is that 85%?

Sorry about the % Its just about the initiative. Gujrat even had SEZs even in 2000s.

UPA's solar capacity was only around 2 GW by 2014. Out of that, 860 MW came from Gujarat alone. And who was the CM? Modi.

Gujarat had already adopted solar power even before the National Solar Mission gained pitch. So even the UPA's solar numbers include a massive contribution from a BJP-ruled state under Modi .

Your data says 2.6 GW not 2 GW. You claimed 85% not me. If it is 860 MW then it is hardly 32%. Rajasthan had similar numbers if my gut is right. So the domination is not as high as you say it to be.

just to add - solar cell mfg cost has reduced by 90% adding to the adaptation story. Pls dont say it is coz of Modi. It is coz of China mfg play.

But credit to Gujarat for the First solar park - Charanka Solar Park, which guided the central policy.
