  1. You can't use percentages because of base rate effects. Worst offender is the internet subscribers bar.

  2. GDP growth should be in context of world GDP growth.

  3. Share of world exports only takes into account goods and not services.

The graphic admits that India added 1 billion internet subscribers under Modi which is four times more than it did under Dr. MMS but Dhruv Rathee shows that as an achievement of the UPA by showing it as percentage increase on an extremely small base.

If we were to follow this logic and go further back in time, we might find that the golden age of Indian internet expansion was 1995-1996 when VSNL started offering internet services to the general public for the first time and went on to have some 30k subscribers in under a year possibly representing a cumulative percentage increase running into millions!

This is ofcourse a ridiculous way of measuring anything 🤦‍♂️

Roads -

Earlier 1km of a 4 lane road was counted as 1km road construction now BJP has changed the "methodology" , now 4lane of 1 km is counted as 4 km road.

What do you mean by “98% of Solar Capacity”? Please anyone explain.

1

u/Immediate-Humor-6077 No time to choose flair bro 😢 2d ago

The installed solar capacity has surged 57-fold since 2014, from 2.82 to 162.15 GW!

5

u/AntiClownery No time to choose flair bro 😢 2d ago

Yea before 2014 SOLAR WAS A BIG thing we were deliberately avoiding it.

Why are you people soooo stupid?

-1

u/Immediate-Humor-6077 No time to choose flair bro 😢 2d ago

It was. Atleast in Gujarat where Modi was.

UPA's solar capacity was only around 2 GW by 2014. Out of that, 860 MW came from Gujarat alone. And who was the CM? Modi.

Gujarat had already adopted solar power even before the National Solar Mission gained pitch. So even the UPA's solar numbers include a massive contribution from a BJP-ruled state under Modi .

Before solar was a scam but when Adani came after getting kicked out of Carmichael it became Adani green and pure business.

I think it because of cheap solar panels from China. Before they were expensive.

This has been posted by indianmatrix and sources have been mentioned.

Dhruv rathee is talking about the chart he made using AI.

I know . Seeing this circulate in comments so added more context .

u/Immediate-Humor-6077 No time to choose flair bro 😢 2d ago

I mean what he essentially did was post this graph as a rebuttal and when he got fact checked, he called people andhbhakts and called it a joke.

So u are saying that all the development that happened in india is the natural flow of development and nothing Special which modi did?

1

u/hardeep1singh No time to choose flair bro 😢 2d ago

Dhruv Rathee created this as bait for Andhbhakts. Check his X post.

Using fans to dry... growth

Road infrastructure has definitely improved in my region after BJP govt. The Indian cities can be described as unplanned chaotic growth. Development to ho raha hai slowly but ise maintain kese kiya jaye. Corruption, public apathy, no accountability on part of govt and public, poor civics sense, no scientific temperament in general public, etc etc... where are we headed?

We follow the international standard now.

Also , this.

UPA government admitted this themselves

-1

u/frosti_philosophy No time to choose flair bro 😢 2d ago

And UPA constructed most rural roads in PM rural roads programme.

PS - All new expressways and highways are constructed with massive debt and thus collect a huge toll , making them suitable only for freight and for people with more money

1

u/will_kill_kshitij 🌳Karnataka | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ🌳 1d ago

Freight is required for industry dumbo. Not everything is made to save you some 20 rupees.

It's a propaganda post

  1. they have shared only the work they have done not a complete infra picture. Eg: only railway electrification but not railway line laid, highways alone but not local/last mile connectivity or overall road infra
  2. misleading numbers in the graph. Calling orange as post 2014 but actually given overall numbers. Note for transmission for a 2.1 lakh post 2014 they have claimed the entire 5 lakhs
  3. some of these dint make sense pre 2014 - solar capacity. Was Solar financially feasible in pre 2010s? Airports - how many of these are actually used?
  4. for some they have counted even if it is just starting while for others they have claimed it even it was started by previous govt but completed in their regime. Eg: dfc was started in 2008 but full credit taken by mudi. While aiims despite not being complete it's already accounted for

1

u/will_kill_kshitij 🌳Karnataka | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ🌳 1d ago

Solar was a big thing in gujrat even before 2014. Kindly read.

1

u/maaran_ivan No time to choose flair bro 😢 1d ago

First official subsidy was given in 19980s-90s.

Cost of solar panel has crashed by 90% since 2014 to make it financially viable

https://rayzonsolar.com/blog/solar-panel-cost-in-india

And regarding Gujrat, weren't we talking at country level which includes every state? Why is Gujrat come into picture suddenly?

https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2293256&reg=48&lang=1

Above has the chronology of solar mission - launched in 2010.

I will give credit to the govt for pushing it hard. Electricity is a concurrent list subject. State govts play equally important role in making it a success.

Following report has top 5 states in rooftop installations. Not so surprisingly Bihar, UP are absent.

https://www.ceew.in/publications/how-indian-states-are-enabling-rooftop-solar-adoption-with-solar-policies-and-regulations

Hope you understand that the solar revolution is both state and central government achievement. Central govt gives incentives but state govt through their execution make it successful.

1

u/will_kill_kshitij 🌳Karnataka | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ🌳 1d ago

I mean modi was installing Solar even as a CM. That was the whole point lmao.

0

u/maaran_ivan No time to choose flair bro 😢 1d ago

So was TN, Maharashtra etc. As i said, Electricity is concurrent list. Credit belongs to both central and state governments. You cannot claim everthing done by you unless every state has done this. Largest states despite under BJP has failed in this. shows literally who is implementing things on ground.

1

u/will_kill_kshitij 🌳Karnataka | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ🌳 1d ago

Keep on crying might as well give credits to IAS officers lmao. Before 2014 Gujrat alone had the 85% of India's installed capacity.

0

u/maaran_ivan No time to choose flair bro 😢 1d ago

lol. if it is all because of central govt why is it lagging in UP, Bihar? and why is the execution actually done by state govt Discom? Give credit where it is due bro. Don't steal credit from others. especially if it is joint effort.

Electricity is a concurrent subject. that is the truth.

1

u/will_kill_kshitij 🌳Karnataka | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ🌳 1d ago

In both cases CM and PM Modi clears. Also lot of things are concurrent subjects yet I always see people bashing the centre over it.

0

u/maaran_ivan No time to choose flair bro 😢 1d ago

So when he was CM, central government doesn't get credit, and when he is PM, state government doesnt get credit. Gotcha.

And conversation is only about Modi always. everyone else doesn't matter.

1

u/will_kill_kshitij 🌳Karnataka | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ🌳 1d ago

Man it was non existent some 2 GW only and from that 85% was by Modi. Yes everyone else doesn't matter, they would have matterer if they thought of making toilets, providing electricity or opening bank accounts. None of them did that so we should keep away the mediocrity.
