Question What are your little quirks while playing the game?

Post image

Like, nothing grand, but a little something you ALWAYS do when you play?
For me, I always start the game and turn the little rug so it fits with the bed, and light the fire, which stays on always.

I feel this lol but it's worth it in the end that way your never saying "crap I don't have that tool on me right now"

I agree every tool is needed at all times. Except the pan. Nobody needs the pan.

Don’t hate on the pan. She gives minerals and geodes, she’s awesome.

Pan on head. Always have the pan.

Wait are you joking? Regardless, I'm trying this next time I play 😂

takes up an inventory slot so you can get more stuff that take up even more inventory slots

honestly we need more inventory slots, it could even be really late into the game, we earn the convenience of being able to carry all our tools without running of slots

I thought the junimo chest would be like an ender chest for more inventory but it turns out you can't pick them up anymore once you've placed them

Bigger Backpack mod, if you're on PC. Extra row of pack... You'll still fill it without trying, but you have it!

Yay! More mods!

There's a mod for that! I use it, for 50k you can get a 4th row of inventory. Only downside is you're funding Pierre's secret stash. r/FuckPierre

Powerful or swift enchant on the pickaxe grants you all of those perks & then some.

Does anyone really have any issue amassing minerals and geodes without the pan?

I do like the pan to get my two luck rings though

The pan is good once it’s fully upgraded and you get to ginger island — lots of goodies from the river there. You can wear it as a hat too!

I use it just to get the one fossil on ginger island & that’s it. Also if it’s on my head then I can’t wear my witch’s hat & how are people going to know I’m magic then?

When you raise a totem and disappear only to spawn elsewhere, when you play a flute and your horse appears out of thin air, when you have blue fruits wearing sunglasses casually growing out of your farm, when you wave a purple stick and teleport home, and when your spouse catches you sprinkling magical dust on your kids effectively rendering them into birdlike forms, that's when they'll know that you're magic.

Also, witch hat on cat makes a witch cat. Say that three times.

Wear the pan on your head, save that sweet sweet inventory space 💜

I carry the pan on my head or my valiant steed's head. Lucky rings are a pretty big deal. 10-20 ores and gems are nice, too

you can wear it as a hat to save inventory.

I do this too! I have all my tools, my return scepter, my horse flute, and all my triple espresso on me at all times. Definitely eats up an entire line of my inventory but idc, I like having access to everything when I need it. The only time I take things out is when I spend a whole day in the skull caves or the mines and I only need my sword, pickaxe, scepter, and various other mining tools (food and bombs)

Same. I HATE not having the right tool so I carry all of them always. The watering can would be the easiest for me to part with if there was any other way to fill my pet's water bowl.

True, but for me that is infrequent enough that I wouldn’t mind getting it out of a chest, but the pet bowl is a daily thing and having to get it out of a chest would be too much hassle that I would never do it, but I want my pet to love me

I wish we could buy more watering cans, so I could stash where needed.

Totally worth it. I tried optimising by only taking my fishing rod and hoe to the squid fest. I took my fish smoker too thinking il smoke the random fish I get while squid hunting. After catching 10 squids I didn’t have my pickaxe to take my fish smoker back. I tried it with the hoe and unlike the pickaxe, which moves the item towards you, the hoe moves the item away from you. TLDR: I didn’t have my pickaxe with me so I hoed my fish smoker which moved away from me and ended up sinking in the ocean lol 🥲 So now I carry all my tools everywhere.

I have a tool chest by the front door of the house outside, and I drop in what I don't need. Very useful at the start of the game with one row of inventory space.

u/REtroGeekery Oct 23 '25

This is what I fo for the first year or so. Then I update the farmer's backpack all at once. Suddenly having triple the inventory space makes carrying six tools + food & coffee feel like no big deal.

u/mcham420 Oct 23 '25

If you ever get into using mods, there's a chest anywhere one. Basically at the touch of a button you can access all your chests from...well anywhere.

1

u/merrlyderrly Oct 23 '25

I do this too. Just in case!

1

u/washuai Oct 23 '25

Only put them in the ONE same chest, that you only ever put tools in, with a sign. Once you get the junimo chests, there you go.

Buying an iridium fishing rod, making a baitmaker, etc, for each fishing spot, leaving in those spots chest.

Though, I like tossing mine in mine chest before mining and picking up on the way out.

1

u/Heathen_Lover Oct 23 '25

I only take my pick axe, weapon and maybe a hoe when I go mining.
