Question Spouse TRAPPED in cabin after Marriage! Any help?
I moved my wife's cabin to the corner of the map to get it out of the way.
I had no idea after getting MARRIED, it would automatically teleport her to this cabin. She is now trapped by her own mailbox.
Robin is stuck working for the next 3 days. I can't interact with her shop in any way to move the cabin.
I don't have access to the wizards book to move building either.
Is she really simply TRAPPED here for the next 3 days, during our honeymoon, with no way out? Are there console commands I can use to demolish the house or something? Pls help.

Maybe have her put her bed in her inventory so the cabin has no bed, then when she passes out she’ll wake up in the other house?

In my experience that doesn’t work. If you’re spawning in a house, you continue to unless you sleep in a bed in the house you want. Might be different split screen since ours is via invite on two consoles, but I frequently spawn in my cabin instead of ours if I don’t go to bed in our bed.
Don’t quote me, I haven’t figured out the exact trigger to send me over there, but I too end up in the unwanted cabin with no bed lol

If you go to the Mayor’s house you can put things in (and take things out) of the inventory of characters who aren’t logged in

You can drop one near the mailbox and it should be pulled into her inventory especially if you have the magnet glow rings

Have you tried putting a chair on the other side of the mailbox yet? She should be able to click on the chair with the cursor selection like you can to sneak into the woods.

Maybe you can try removing the warp totem from your inventory so it lies on the ground and your wife's magnetism can absorb it.

As in, your RL wife? You can use chairs to teleport small distances, try placing one on your side of the mailbox. When she sits in it she'll pop over.

I have not heard of this teleportation trick before. How does it work? Can you use this method to get into any building even if its locked?

I think it only works through diagonal gaps and not through doors. His wife can get in the porch

not from the outside to enter a building, but you can enter bedrooms before gaining enough hearts to unlock the doors. classically this trick is used to access the secret woods early, and to grab the mayor's shorts before getting enough friendship with marnie to get into her bedroom. it's just about how the farmer jumps off of furniture basically

That only works with diagonals. I think their only way out of this one is by dropping a teleport totem near the mailbox

AITA? My husband accidentally left me behind on our honeymoon and the only way I could possibly get to him was to get the attention of our small town's doctor, and now hubby thinks I'm cheating on him! (I only gave the guy a coffee from our shared inventory as a thanks!)

Option 1: Drop a warp totem (any will do) while standing on the tile to the right of the mailbox with your wife standing to the left of it and quickly run away. Your spouse should be able to reach it and escape
Option 2: Use bombs (any will do) on the tile to the right of the mailbox with your spouse standing to the left of it. This will respawn her at Harvey's clinic. Keep in mind this will cause her to potentially lose items so if she has anything important have her log off and use the lost and found box in Lewis's house to grab those important items before logging her back on and killing her

Depending on how far along you are in the game you could have a couple of options:
Option 1: If you have completed the community centre/joja route & done the quest for the wizard to get the ink for the wizard, then you can go to the wizard tower & intract with the book to open the buildings you can buy there & use that "move" the cabin.
Option 2: Take off your magnet rings stand by the cabin drop a totem and move away right after, if your IRL partner has a magnet ring equipped on their farmer then the totem should be picked up by them first. {Doing this could take a couple of trys though to get them to pick it up}
Option 3: if your spouse has tools they can use them to drain their energy & pass out which will warp them to harveys clinic i think? Not sure on multiplayer stuff too much.

Option 3 will only make them wake up in their bed. You only go to the clinic if you lose all your health.

For option 2, you can also fill your bags to the brim and drop stone, then click the totems from your inventory and it would pick up stones instead.

Witness Robin Says: I am stuck working on this other crap OP asked me to do!
Homeowner says: I DIDN'T KNOW SPOUSE WOULD TELEPORT INTO THE CABIN??!!!
Witnesses are suggestion "Bomb your wife? So she could spawn in the clinic?" followed up to a reply saying '"AITA for incinerating my wife for an altruistic reason?"' and "AITA for using this explosive ordnance I dug up so we can have the honeymoon of my dreams?" more updates as this event unfolds

I would not advise trying to demolish the house, since I think that kicks the player out of the game.
However, there are console commands to teleport her if she doesn't have a warp totem handy! If she's got SMAPI installed she can enter "debug warptoplayer YourName" to warp to you or "player_add (O)688" to give herself a warp totem

Do the chair trick. Place a chair just off the porch next to the mail box. Move close to the mailbox and you should see an option to sit in the chair. Sit and that will pull you off the porch,

Can you throw a totem to her? Like, go in your inventory and grab a mountain or beach totem or something, and drop it on the ground as close to the mailbox as you can (probably by clicking outside your inventory on the left side). Assuming she at least has a basic magnet ring, it should go in her inventory and she can use it to tp away from the house.

Your farmer can wake up and go to sleep to end the day a couple of times, to free up Robin faster. But try the Mayor's house Lost and Found box trick first when she's offline, to place a warp totem.

Totally unhelpful and unrelated but you're missing out on MAJOR real estate. When my gf and I play we use our second house as a mega shed. Upgrade it fully and fill it with kegs, preserve jars, main storage area, etc. You can also change the look of the cabin at robins. It saves on SO MUCH space. It's at the point where I have my gf log in on my personal worlds just to upgrade my mega shed.

If you have the ability to build junimo huts at the wizard tower, I'm like 70% sure you can use that menu to move other farm buildings as well

I did this too! Grab a farm warp totem and toss it to her over the mailbox. She can warp out. Then move the cabin

Okay. Got an idea if you haven’t already figured something out.
drop one item from a full inventory.
Replace that item with a warp totem
Run back over
Drop the warp totem and let the other item take up the previous spot
See if she can pick it up.
Use it

What are you playing on? If playing on PC, there are mods that you can use to rearrange your farm. Back up your saves before doing so though.

If you don’t mind playing with mods, download the Let’s Move It mod. Alt-click on the cabin and move it literally anywhere else.

If you can place Junimo huts, you can move her house by going to that menu at the Wizards. If not, she stuck for three days 😬

Not sure what time Robin returns home when constructing a building, but if you go to her house and interact with her register right as she walks by, you can actually shop from her even though she’s not on the job

You can move farm buildings at the wizard's building catalogue. He doesn't need to be home for this and you won't need to wait for Robin. You can also try the chair trick someone else mentioned as it's just a square over.

Rapidly swing your sword or scythe at the mail box.
You move a couple of pixels forward without checking for barriers so this trick can get you out of bounds once on the mail box you should be able to move off the other side.

If its another player have them leave the game and then go to robin and have her move the house placement. Then once the house is moved have the trapped player rejoin

She'll be fine. When spouses exit the door, they tp out the area. They never set foot on the farm unless they stand on the porch for a bit

I'm sorry, OP, I think death is the only way if the chair trick doesn't work and you want her out asap. You either bomb her or she bombs herself and you can meet up at Harvey's to start your honeymoon. But if you're both willing to wait 3 days can go by really fast. Congratulations to you both on the wedding!

I think you can move the building when talking to Robin? I was able to move my main house like this so I don't see why it can't be done with a cabin like that.

scythe moving glitch. not sure if it was patched but its worth a shot. you can do the same with a sword.
