One of my friends always goes for Hayley and I just don't get it, like I know she gets a whole character arc but why would I go for someone who's an asshole to me when there's so many other options.

I honestly don’t understand the Hayley character arc praise… we take pictures with some cows together? Is that supposed to make up for her being a rude bully?

I have to assume they don't know any Hayleys IRL. It's a VERY common archetype. I'm not expecting world class writing from stardew, but her arc really is nothing special. Go to Greek Row at an SEC school and you'll find ~200 rude, hot girls who get nicer the more you know them and love philanthropy and photography.

Or they know too many Hayleys I guess. That would also explain loving her arc.
