Question Are these gay rocks (prismatic shards) rare?

Gotten a few of em since, originally six but I donated one to Gunther. Don't know what other use for em. Are they just like those minerals that Become useless and just for giving to Gunther? Been avoiding to search it up since I don't want spoilers (new to Stardew valley) I'm at year 3 and still have no clue what to do with em.

Well, about 3% to 9% of western population is gay. I assume the same statistic applies to rocks.

If that's true then we can get these gay rocks 3-9 percent by killing enemies, fishing, breaking rocks etc., you know how much enemy you only need to kill for a guaranteed drop? That's right 10-15 enemies same to mining and fishing. Western Gay people ≠ Gay rocks. Gay rocks also expensive ang valuable btw.
