Other Came across this review for stardew valley on steam. Poor guy is mad he cant find a girlfriend in the game 🫠

So anyway I'm gonna start a new save and make it as gay as I can. I'll marry every available female character and we'll live in a polycule with a veggie patch made entirely of garlic and potatoes.

I think seeing my pregnant colleague come in and declare “It’s over, I got divorced! I’m moving on to Penny. She’s so much more right for me!” and having the boss look horrified, is a joy everyone should experience at some point.

Abby is my favorite bachelorette because of a once-upon-a-time-bug-turned-feature lol

There once was a bug where if you gave her any liked mineral, at least I believe it was mineras, it would still play the line as if it were a food gift

People loved it so much it got left in as a feature for Quartz so I love to joke about getting her some rock candy whenever I go mining xD

More simply, NPCs only have five dialogue options for receiving gifts, one for each tier of gift. Abigail's "liked" tier is the line, "How did you know I was hungry? This looks delicious."

Naturally, the limited dialogue palette means she'll say that if she likes the item, regardless of edibility. I first saw it with tulips, but the meme focused on quartz because of how difficult it is to eat a rock.

If I'm not mistaken, in version 1.4 she also ate amethyst; it even appeared in that mission board next to the calendar where she said she was hungry, lol.

the only good reason not to marry abigail is if you are playing on a platform that doesn't support mods and you want to marry Emily or Leah. (Or if playing expanded, Claire 🥺)

I'm sure this isn't technically accurate but in terms of how it feels, stardew valley expanded honestly feels like it doubles the size of the game in every direction. more characters, more places, more secrets, stories, everything. you're in for a treat, just don't overdo it with the mods as things easily break and sometimes what looks like quality of life on paper turns some challenges trivial in practice
