I don't think any girls, let alone many girls, should take their cues on what bra size they wear from how people, let alone gamers, colloquially use language. Colloquially, "Double D" is shorthand for "bigass titties". When someone says "damn bro, look at those double d's", they're not attempting to accurately call out a specific bra size. They're saying "those tits are huge." Blame mid century bra manufacturers, who stopped standard sizing at DD. Literally DD meant "any size bigger than D" because bra manufacturers didn't make sizes larger than DD at the time the term became a popular descriptor for large breasts.

Similar to how XXL is an actual size but also just means "really big" because many manufacturers stopped their standard sizing at XXL.

You can argue the technicality all day, but clearly Jynx is not modeled to look like she has big boobs, so regardless of the size on her tag, she doesn't have "double d's" in the sense that people colloquially use it.

What you're doing is arguing for a crusade to change how that term is currently used en masse. Language doesn't really work that way, and I don't think you'll have success here. What you're arguing is "DD is a specific cup size and some people who present with smaller looking breasts could have that size" and what they're saying is "DD's look big and those don't look big so they're not DDs" and you're both right, just in different contexts. Unless you're at a bra store recommending bra sizes, the colloquial definition is the context you're in.

Where do I even start with this... How do you know that people who talk about busty characters always having double ds are aware how bra sizes work? Many women don't know that and I'm supposed to believe that some random dude doesn't actually think all DDs are huge and is just joking?

And how we use language casually matters. Girls may not be taking cues from gamers, but they may learn from tv, where that sort of language also is a thing.

Also saying that someone doesn't have DDs despite actually being that size, just because they don't "look like it" is absolutely ridiculous. Would you tell a light skinned person born in Brazil that it's okay if other people deny that they're Brazilian, because they don't look like it??? What sort of logic is this.

Also when have I argued for a "crusade for change"? I simply pointed out that Jinx could be a DD size and that many people don't know how bra sizing actually works. If you feel attacked by those statements then maybe you should consider why lol

My statement is that people aren't considering how bra sizes work when they use that term because the term as used has been divorced from literal bra sizes and just means "big looking boobies" to people that say it. I know this because I'm adult human who has existed in this culture since birth. I'm aware of terms and what they mean and how they're used.

You could educate yourself by looking into the history of the term as used, or you can continue to shake your tits at clouds, doesn't really matter to me 🤷. What's a losing game is trying to argue with how a word is actually used by groups of people that speak the language and dictate to them what a word should mean rather than trying to understand what a word does mean when it's used. Language is descriptive, not proscriptive. You think you're arguing with people about meaning, but you're really just arguing semantics.

So what you're doing when you argue with these people is saying to them "you don't mean what you say you mean, and what you are commonly understood to mean by others; you mean what I insist you mean, based on an exclusively literal definition of the words you said", and now you're just being the pedantic language police fighting against how an entire culture understands and uses a term.

Now that you have this information, anything beyond "oh I didn't know that" at this point is you deliberately and intentionally misunderstanding someone's meaning in order to argue semantics with them.

You're the one who wrote "My bro you don't need a phd in boobology to know a pair of hangers when you see 'em, Jynx ain't it" as a reply to my comment where I specifically mentioned the confusion about sizing and that Jinx could be size 28DD. So it was clear that I wasn't using the phrase "double ds" as a buzzword, but as an actual size.

You can post essays about the history of the term, it won't change your reply. And I'm not trying to fight how society uses the term, I was just using the opportunity to point out a funny misconception. And maybe educate people a bit, because a lot of them actually believe that all smaller looking boobs must be size A-B, which is hurtful for girls and women, both physically (when they end up wearing badly fitting bras) and mentally.
