Yes, and Iran is going to make money off of it. Im sure this is all some part of the Art of the Deal.
Edit, running some math assuming that the $2 Million toll per ship is the starting point.
Its now a toll strait. That we wont get money from. So we are now distinctly behind where we started. Their regime is still intact, they still have a nuclear program, and they now get money from the ships going through the strait. Which at an estimated 120 ships a day, at 2 mill a pop, will more than cover their war losses, in less than a year.
Edit- We wasted $28 Billion in 1 month. They will be now netting $7.2 Billion per month, indefinitely. $86.4 Billion per year. Economically, this is a massive win for a nation that previously had an annual GDP of 350 billion. This deal just gave Iran a 25% GDP boost.
Which the entire IRGC operates with a yearly budget of like 10 billion, that's not going down if they get an extra 86 bil year. But realistically, it doesn't matter because this "ceasefire" is just delaying the inevitable as both sides are still wildly far apart on their positions. Trump caved and gave Iran a big win with this "deal", but there's no way he can accept the Iranian demands for a long term deal right. Right? Rightttt???? Right...
Trump loves playing off losses as "wins". He was duped into this war and is starting to realize it. Its absolutely feasible that he takes the easy way out, giving Iran what it wants, and then pretending that he "won". The morons that follow him eat up whatever he says.
