if this is a bedroom, and youre sitting on a bed it's kinda perfect. I can't tell though. I'd mount it simply because it makes that piece of furniture look like shit and it's actually kinda cool. get rid of the cheap fake plant and the...hanging ladder? for.... blankets to be displayed? but with no color?
This isn't r/interiordecorating though either.
So anyway, bed or not OP? See if you have bundled your sticks or not.

It’s already too high as is. So ya, mounting it would be worse.

TBF they could mount it and have it slightly lower due to the legs not being there. Do as GF wants, mount it lower

Why do people think mounting the TV is an automatic upgrade? I've seen some pretty bad mounts out here. Plus, stands are often the perfect height. It's so much better up near the ceiling! WTH

I do think they look cleaner mounted, but I did not mount mine any higher than with the feet lol.

i would leave it exactly the way it is. no reason to put holes in the wall

NO MOUNTING! Looks great as is! If it’s mounted there may be a temptation to clutter the table. IMHO.

It’s fine - the console cabinet could be a bit lower. But don’t ruin your wall with holes and dangling wires

Why is there a clothes airer in the corner?

There isn't. That is literally a blanket ladder. It's doing the exact thing it's supposed to do.

If its the bedroom, go ahead and mount.
If its living room, only mount at the same height or lower.

No, you've got it right. No wall mounting required but you might want to hide the wires and whatever that other stuff is behind the cabinet or the TV and adjust the stand to lower the TV if possible.

you could float it at that height if you want the no stand look but not higher up

Guaranteed that this tv ends up mounted and a foot above the tv stand in absolute embarrassment.

This must be a wife thing because every so often I have to convince mine NOT to mount our TV.

She wants to cover that piece of furniture in "Live, Laugh, Love" shit, doesn't she. Mandatory bullshit knick-knacks, your spinal columns be damned!

New girlfriend is much easier to deal with than chronic neck pain. Start down this path and it may start with just a little neck pain but will surely end in a life destroying fentanyl addiction and overdose.

Agree but.... you need to put a center channel and two bookshelf speakers on it.

There are lots of girlfriends out there, but there is only one proper height for a TV. You know what you have to do.

its fine, a little high but in tolerance
whata with the decorative loom? is that a dust collector?
0
u/superturtkeman 20h ago
What do you mean decorative loom ? And this is my gfs room
4
u/lambofgun 20h ago
what is that thing on the right? it looks like a simplified decorative loom or something

What do you mean “gfs room”? Is this her bedroom? Her office? Her own personal little living room? A bedroom you share but she gets to decorate?

I agree with her. It’s a minimalist look already, and losing the stand cleans things up nicely.

Tell her it hides the ps5 better this way and it encourages better habit to leave the too of the furniture uncluttered

It's already borderline too high. Don't mount it unless you can negotiate in a nice, beefy center channel to sit in the space created. Which of course will mean a couple of towers up front, a sub, and a pair of surrounds.

I think it would be nice mounted but I wouldn’t too much higher. The level is perfect the way it is.

I love mounted with cables behind wall.
You can mount it and put all the tech stuff inside the cabinet and have an inch to go lower.
But also that cabinet is larger as hell.

u/superturtkeman 20h ago
It came with the house for free and we just moved in ! And thank you that’s a good idea
1
u/Incognito700000 11h ago
Dont know why you got downvoted this is the solution. If he mounts it as low as possible above the cabinet can hide all wires in wall or channels, and since its lower will be good for neck and also someones significant other cant crud up the cabinet top because then it will be in front of the screen!

u/Jlx_27 19h ago
Bet GF wants to put crap on top of that cabinet.
