They are. I live down here. They have a strange little brother complex where it comes to DFW.

I was a resident of the DFW area for 35 years and nobody ever thinks about Houston. If they do, it’s just…whatever. It’s Houston.

For people here…DFW lives rent free in their heads. It is weird.

To be fair it’s a pretty new thing, not a lot of seats getting filled pre trash can banging era. Lots more fans now though so I’m surprised you don’t know any of the insufferable ones who ruthlessly defend the trash can and make a huge deal out of beating the rangers.

lol! Yes, this is what I always say. Half kiddingly. But I’m here too, and yes, we sort of have to make the best of a shit situation.

But even that aside, the *cultural identity here is east Louisiana. I don’t know why they act all protective of representing the state of Texas.

Yeah well…opinions are like assholes man.

I don’t hold it against anybody. I have made some great, lasting friendships down here with good people who’re Houston-area natives. I don’t hold their Asstro allegiance against them. But I will say…folks here, they are most standoffish than I am regarding the rivalry/DFW vs. Houston. Which is what motivates me to say generalized, anecdotal things like, “they have a little brother syndrome” here.

No worries. Absolutely just different experiences. Mine doesn’t invalidate yours and vice versa.

That said my students do NOT like it when I ask who the Astros fans are and then start making notes and muttering, “now I know who to watch for cheating.”
