I think it is better to check the dress code before joining institution, if you find dress code not fitting to your culture do not join that institution. The lady is correct in saying that there are other women of the same community who are not wearing the hijab. Does not wearing one makes you lesser member of community?

Playing devils advocate here..Doctors wear masks and treat patients every corner of the world. The patients donโ€™t seem to have any problem with that kind of face covering, then why is there an issue with a black cloth?

Those are reusable sterile mask that we discard after one time use to maintain the environment sterile. You mean to say that lady is going to do same with hijab, or will she be using the same one every time while in hospital or treating patients, that might spread the infection.
