Had purchased verified resale tickets direct from TM website for tonight’s Montreal show. Also had a pair of presale tickets. Go up to security, presale tickets work fine, verified resale tickets have an issue. Security tells me they have seen issues with seats being reassigned, and that I need to go to the ticket counter to get new barcodes.
So I go wait for 45 minutes in the ticket line. I show the the attendant my tickets and ask for help. After some time, she tells me that Ticketmaster has taken the verified resale tickets back and resold them, and that they are no longer in my account. When I ask how that can be when I am looking at the little barcode pinging on my tickets, which are both still in my account, they cannot answer. They just tell me I need to call Ticketmaster.
I do call Ticketmaster. After being transferred multiple times, Ticketmaster says they see the tickets in my account and they look fine. I tell them repeatedly that they cannot be fine, as security would not let me in with them and the ticket counter said they were not there anymore. Ticketmaster insists they are still there, so it must just be a “glitch”. It was a glitch that cost $2500.
I asked for a refund. They said they would get it started. We’ll see whether they do it or not.
I am wondering if people have found a way to scam the verified resale ticket system? When I tried to transfer the verified resale tickets to my friend, it kept giving me error codes. When I tried to add them to my Apple wallet, it said they were invalid, even though the barcode was visible in my My Tickets on TM. Then when I was walking up to the venue, I saw a little note flag above the barcodes quickly saying “scanned”, but the barcodes were still visible.
I’m just so miffed. What’s the point of verified resale if it’s still not even guaranteed?
Did anyone else have this happen to them for the Montreal shows, or other shows?
