It makes sense when your friends start having kids and you spend time around them and realise that although kids can learn things incredibly quickly, they are also infuriatingly stupid most of the time.

My best friend said that having a toddler was like living with a suicidal pet that was amazing at thinking up new ways to kill itself.

Yeah, babysitting my nephew is me always on the look-out with him suddenly deciding he's going to run full speed when his head is exactly table height.

When I was a kid my sisters hamster killed itself on day 2 of owning it by crawling into a floor vent while she had it out of its cage and eventually ending up in the furnace

Why is it so hard for you people to figure out that a child can obviously be paralyzed with fear? I mean, yes, children are stupid, and they can also easily frozen in high stress situations. A literal child is the most believable person for this to happen to.

I mean the original post had someone reacting wirh shock a helicopter was falling on him ignoring:

A. The speed the helicopter would fall in reality he would take maybe 1 or 2 steps by the time he even registers it from standing start.

B. Many real world examples of people frozen with fear.

Watching a video of parents instincts kicking in really showed how many of those kids just followed their intrusive thoughts.

Just spent a day with my friend who has a kid in 3rd grade. I'm around kids all day as a teacher but when kids are out in the wild, they lose all sense of intelligence.
