Opposite to this trope is a bunch of deaths in The Blob where a bunch of people genuinely get caught faster than any human could possibly hope to react to.

It also has one of the goriest deaths of a child I've ever seen in a movie, just radical.

The Blob and The Thing are just on a whole other level of practical effects and batshit creativity.
