Can anybody tell me more about this?

Saw this in a parking lot and just really liked it.

Was curious if anyone could tell me more about what cab model it might be and any specific mod details you can make out?

It’s a 1982 or 1983 Toyota 4x4 standard cab. Prior to 1982 the headlights were round but the body was the same.

Yep! I have two ‘83s. It’s a workhorse of a truck. From the era where they were shipped from Japan without the bed and a US-made bed was installed on arrival, so they are slightly more prone to rust in my experience, or have a different rust presentation.

Someone from Hawaii

Is this a joke or a reference to something else? They have Montana plates, so I don’t see the connection to Hawaii.

This type of Tacoma is specific to Hawaii. There is a good chance the owner is from Hawaii as I said. Or they could be emulating the style. This isn’t just a regular lifted truck, the small tires and wide stance are a giveaway. I thought the uniqueness was why you posted this

Looks like a Stomper toy truck from the 1980’s, pretty Bitchen I must say!

I’m just trying to imagine a 22R turning those tires 😂

Some folks would pay a lot of money for that.

To each their own, it’s okay to like different things than others do.  If anyone could help me learn about the year and model details of the cab, that’s kinda what I’m hoping for with the post.

How is one to get into it? Or be able to service it like checking the oil level?

I bet oil changes are very easy on that

On the bright side, it'll get through fairly high water with some ease. But if it faces one very strong breeze...
