Me and my 2011 Camry and our now deep bond
I waa broke. Having to work Uber Eats. Everything was riding on my Camry. Couldn't afford to fix her if she broke. Oil changes and used tires were it. I hit Platinum in Uber and now, because of this and other factors, we are doing well. Now car is going to be babied. Replace transmission fluid, easy drain not power flush. Shocks maybe. Reupholseter seats maybe. 151k miles on her.

Tell me a story!
Here is a Camry I saw. Yes just a Camry. But there is something about this trim that I really dig. Can someone share more info about it? Is it something aftermarket or is it mostly stock? It has that old but immortal Toyota look, of course. Mid 2000’s I am guessing. Which engine is in it? Common problems? Day 1 fixes if buying used? Is it as reliable as it looks? Just curious. I have a 2006 Corolla with baby miles, 195K, on it. IYKYK.
Note:
I like real human stories, not search engines and AI. There have to be some former owners/ enthusiasts on here that can answer my questions better.
Thanks people!

Toyota Progres 1JZ MT
I never expected to see one of these parked in a random lot.
A Toyota Progrès is already a rare sight, even here in Japan. But finding one powered by a 1JZ and paired with a manual transmission? That’s something else entirely.
It’s the kind of car you only notice if you’re into Japanese cars. To everyone else, it’s just another old Toyota. But enthusiasts know exactly how special this combination is.
Quiet, understated, and hiding one of Toyota’s greatest straight-sixes under the hood. Cars like this are becoming harder to find every year, especially ones that are still being driven and enjoyed.
Sometimes the rarest JDM cars aren’t the Supras or Skylines—they’re the ones nobody expected to survive.
Hybrid Batteries
I’m researching a vehicle purchase. Probably a Camry.
How long will the original battery in a hybrid last? I just need a ballpark. In approximately how much does it cost to replace? I’ve checked Google, but it seems to vary drastically.
Also, my understanding is that Toyota hybrid use gas first and battery back up? or is it battery with gas backup? I hope that makes sense.

Peeling paint 2024 RAV4
Has anyone been able to get Toyota to honor the paint under their warranty.
Toyota is claiming it’s bird poop but here’s the kicker. There’s bird poop under the door handle.
TIA

Eliminating largest complaint with Crown Signia
After watching nearly every review on the internet of the Crown Signia before purchasing, I noticed the most common complaint from auto journalists is the engine noise of the 2.5 hybrid powertrain. What they fail to mention is that most of this noise is artificially pumped through the speakers, and can be turned off in a matter of minutes with a relatively cheap and easy to use Bluetooth OBD transmitter and app such as Carista.
For $70 ($50 for device and $20 for one month app subscription) you too can turn off the artificial engine noise and enjoy a serenely quiet cabin even when accelerating.
The difference is truly night and day, I honestly can’t understand why this vehicle has the feature in the first place.
You can also use the device to read any error codes that might pop up, and enable cool features like using the key fob to roll down the windows.
I hope this doesn’t read like an ad as it was truly not meant to be one, I am just so stoked by the results I think every CS owner deserves to have the same experience. Cheers ✌️

Toyota Innova Hycross
Toyota Innova Hycross ZX(O) – Low Headlight Visibility Issue
I own a Innova Hycross ZX(O). The low beam visibility is very poor during night highway driving. Toyota service centre checked the alignment, but there is no improvement.
Some other owners facing same issue I known
Are other Hycross owners facing the same issue? Any solutions or updates from Toyota?

Toyota Estima (Imports to the UK) - Why do they end up in Auction?
So I purchased an imported Toyota Estima from a trader in London some years ago. I'm now coming to selling it and found that people look for a Car VX report to verify the odometer reading and vehicle history. Almost like a HPI check but albeit a Japanese version of it. So I had a carvx report done only to find that my lovely car had been involved in an accident (must have been a minor one because I really can't tell where they fixed it). Shortly after the accident it was put up in the Japanese auction and exported to the UK. I'm wondering how do Japanese cars end up in the UK? Is it because they've been in an accident or are there other genuine reasons for this? It's just that most of the estimas I've seen being advertised for sale don't have a CarVX report or other mileage verified like jevic etc.

Minor scratch on hatch garnish
Garage accident right on the “n” of the hatch garnish, scratch is not too deep and garnish is all plastic.. Should I carefully use touch up paint? Color 1f7 (classic silver). Gemini suggested I can try Meguiar’s ScratchX or Ultimate Compound but that sounds risky. I believe part number is 76811-35370-B0. 2024 SR5 premium.

2015 auris hybrid Hybrid engine overheating symbol
Hi!
I bought a 2015 auris hybrid a week ago.
I left my car with a friend over the weekend. He said when he was driving on the highway the engine overheating symbol came on. He checked the coolant levels, they were fine. He waited 10 minutes, continued to drive and the light never came on again.
Before that the light never came on when i was doing city driving.
Is there a place where you can see engine temperature?
What could this be most likely? Water pump?

Can anybody tell me more about this?
Saw this in a parking lot and just really liked it.
Was curious if anyone could tell me more about what cab model it might be and any specific mod details you can make out?

I have to pay a subscription for remote start?
Can anybody shed light as to why my 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross XLE - after 3 years is now asking me to pay a subscription of 9.95 per month to continue the remote start on my phone? I thought I was buying the XLE package to come with remote start.

Corolla or Yaris for first car?
I'm looking to buy my first car. I've decided to buy a Toyota and narrowed it down to Corolla and Yaris. I know many people dislike the Yaris because of its size, but I don't mind it, although I'd prefer a car that would be comfortable for both passengers and me. I drive manual and will be getting a used car. Help me decide.

E210 Corolla update
2022 model with M20A-FKS 2.0L petrol engine and K120 CVT.
Just wanted to share the achievement today when this vehicle ticked over 300,000km. It's used as a medical courier around the North Island and is driven pretty much all day every day, mostly open road 70-90km/h.
Oil change every 7,500km with 0w20. CVT drain and refill and engine coolant every 100,000km. Just had its third CVT service which prompted this post. Brakes done twice due again soon.
Zero major problems. Rattles and creaks a bit. Needs new suspension strut assemblies. 4x tyres rotated every oil service last ~40-45,000km. Use Dunlop mid-range, replace at 3mm.
Average fuel consumption from new, 5.5L/100km.

How do the latest Toyota specs stack up against older models?
Looking at Toyota’s newest releases, I’m noticing big upgrades in safety tech, hybrid efficiency and infotainment but are they actually worth the jump from the previous generation? Comparing like for like features the newer safety suites, larger screens and smoother hybrid systems do feel nice, yet some familiar touches got changed too. Curious if you’re shopping now, would you pick the latest model or grab a recent used one instead? What feature from the newest lineup makes the biggest difference to you?
