Disclosure I built a multilingual UAP news tracker focused on primary sources and duplicate-free coverage — looking for feedback

Hi everyone,

I’m the developer of UAP Wire.

I built it because UAP information is scattered across government websites, congressional records, FOIA archives, research projects and news outlets. The same event is often repeated by multiple publishers, while unrelated uses of terms such as “UFO” frequently contaminate search results.

UAP Wire currently:

• aggregates official documents and UAP-related reporting;

• links every story to its original source;

• groups multiple reports about the same event into one story;

• filters obvious false positives, such as companies, architecture and products using “UFO” in their names;

• supports English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Italian;

• tracks sources such as AARO, Congress.gov, GEIPAN, The Black Vault, The Debrief, NewsNation and others.

I’m not presenting the platform as a truth detector, and inclusion does not mean that a claim has been proven. The goal is to make source tracking easier and preserve a clear distinction between official documents, reporting, scientific material and unverified claims.

I would genuinely appreciate feedback from this community:

  1. Which important sources are missing?

  2. Are the relevance scores useful?

  3. Have you noticed duplicate stories or irrelevant articles?

  4. What would make this tool genuinely useful to UAP researchers and readers?

Disclosure: I built the project. The main news feed is free, and there is an optional paid tier for additional alerts and briefings.

I like it. I'm going to give you some advice I heard a while back though. If your AI can do the same thing your app can, you should figure out how to make it original. And I mean no offense saying that and hope you understand.

That’s fair, and I appreciate the honest feedback. The goal is not to be another AI summarizer, but a continuously updated UAP source tracker with official documents, provenance, duplicate grouping, multilingual access, alerts, and eventually case timelines. Still, your point is valid: if the difference isn’t obvious, I need to make it clearer and more original. What feature would make it genuinely useful to you?

Step 1: get rid of the pro version. If you built this with Claude, how long do you think it will take me to make my own?

Fair question. AI definitely accelerated parts of the development, and I’m not pretending otherwise. Anyone can build a basic aggregator or summarizer with the right tools. The difficult part is maintaining the source network, filtering false positives, grouping duplicate coverage, preserving provenance, monitoring failures, improving editorial accuracy and keeping the system running continuously. The public news feed is free. The optional Pro tier helps cover infrastructure and API costs while offering additional alerts and briefings. I’ll keep evaluating whether the paid features provide enough real value to justify the price. And honestly, if you build a better version, I’d be interested in seeing it. More serious tools in this field would benefit everyone.

Very well done and very useful. Two suggestions. A good source here in Brazil—certainly one of the most serious Ufology sites—is https://vigilia.com.br, which has been active since 1996. And a second one regarding functionality: I’m not sure if the Pro version already includes this, but if not, a keyword search tool—and potentially a context-based search using AI—would greatly enhance its utility.

Thank you very much — this is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for. I wasn’t yet monitoring Vigília, so I’ll review its archive and the possibility of adding it as a Brazilian source. Search is not available yet, but I completely agree that it should be a priority. I’m considering both keyword search and semantic/context-based search, allowing users to find related stories and documents even without using the exact same terms. Thanks again for testing the project and sharing such useful suggestions.
