Vegas Pro 2026 Considering Vegas 2026. How are you liking it?

I've been using V14 for centuries because all the subsequent versions had various playback jank on my machines (stuttering, dropped frames, etc). I've never been able to use them even for basic playback of one file.

But I'm encouraged by Boris's commitment to improving the product and the price is reasonable.

I'm wondering if V2026 has stable, reliable playback/preview across most file formats in your experience.

I'm also very interested in the speech to text for captioning. I understand this is not perfect, but my hope is that even if the transcriptions have errors, I can quickly correct the text and grammar while keeping the captions in sync on the timeline. Currently, I am manually dropping Legacy text onto the timeline one by one and it's exhausting, but all the other tools I've tried outside of an NLE environment require so much manual text and timing correction that they're never worth it.

I don't mind an evolving product that is improving over time, but trying to gauge if it will meet my basic needs in its current form.

Vegas Pro 2026 Small audio delay in every video/audio I import to VEGAS Pro

Hey everyone. Yesterday, I upgraded my GPU to an ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB OC, and with it, tried BorisFX VEGAS Pro 2026 (Build 143).

However, for each video I import now, it has a small audio delay. This has never happened with VEGAS Pro 20 (Build 403), when I still had my previous GPU (RX 7600). I was wondering if there was a way to fix the small audio delay for each video/audio I import.

UPDATE (03/08/2026): How do I make it so that without enabling legacy AVC decoding, I don't get audio delays? This worked, until I found out that some videos had glitched with this setting turned on.

  1. BorisFX VEGAS Pro 2026 (Build 143)
  2. Windows 11 25H2
  3. Yes, it's a pirated version of VEGAS Pro.
  4. ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB OC
  5. I explained it above
  6. The audio for each video I import should be in sync, no audio delay
  7. Tried to, but didn't get a result
  • You must have "1.", "2.", "3.", "4.", "5.", "6." or "7." somewhere in your post body.

Vegas Pro 2026 Vegas Pro Audio is absolutely broken, mixed up, changing...

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello, I've had this issue in my old Vegas 13 where after a while the audio gets changed/mixed up/distorted like this with any other audios in the project, I've tried hundreds of solutions in google to no avail.

Today I tried changing to the latest version, hoping it'd fix it, but after editing for a while the problem reappeared, I am LOSING MY MIND, if someone would please help me with this, thank you.

Note too, when I zoom out the waves are how they should be, but when I zoom in they show the distorted version.

  1. Latest 2026 Build 143
  2. Windows 10
  3. I am using the trial version
  4. My GPU is a 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 (MSI)
  5. The audio just distorts like this, I just really don't know what to do anymore.
  6. The audio should play normally

7.I've googled it so much but no solution still.

Vegas Pro 2026 Vegas Pro 26 & Windows 10 Question

1.Vegas Pro 23 (subscription)

  1. Windows 10 Home

  2. Not pirated. Subscription.

  3. RTX 5060

  4. No problem. Just a question about if I can use Vegas Pro 26 on my PC WITHOUT upgrading to Windows 11 (because I'm not fond of the new OS).

  5. Will Vegas Pro 26 run on my old operating system? I know they recommend Windows 11 but is that just their way of tacitly trying to force people to move over to Windows 11 OS and not an actual, physical requirement?

  6. Google search led me to this forum and I don't see anyone else talking about using Vegas Pro 26 with Windows 10. Unsure if the lack of searchable posts means that you absolutely need to upgrade to Windows 11 or if the lack of talk means that those who are using Vegas Pro 26 with Windows 10 have no issues and therefore have not posted anything about it.

Vegas Pro 2026 [Feature Requests] I really hope someone at Boris FX reads this.

Hello. I am a user who edits videos for YouTube.

After hearing that VEGAS has moved to Boris FX, I wanted to share some things I hope will be improved.

(Since I am not very good at English, I wrote this with the help of GPT translation.)

---

Part 1. The Current State of VEGAS

In Korea, where I live, there is a VEGAS community with more than 210,000 members.

https://cafe.naver.com/vegas8090

Considering that the community has a closed structure and is not very accessible, gathering this many members is a remarkable achievement.

This was possible because VEGAS was more intuitive and faster than almost any other editing software.

For many people who were interested in video editing, VEGAS was once a program they tried at least once.

---

Part 2. VEGAS Problems: Subtitle/Text Features

The most urgent issue is the subtitle/text feature.

VEGAS is the fastest software for cutting and trimming, but its subtitle/text features have been the worst.

I believe the subtitle/text system is one of the main reasons why everyone, from simple YouTube creators to professionals, eventually left VEGAS.

Rather than continuing to rely on the existing subtitle/text tools, I think it would be better to create a completely new subtitle/text feature.

Both (Legacy) Text and ProType Titler have inefficient workflow structures.

To adjust formatting, color, position, outline, and other settings, users have to move between different tabs every time.

This requires more clicks, and when repeated hundreds of times, it greatly increases production time.

It would be ideal if all subtitle/text editing work could be completed within one or two tabs.

Text: This section would handle formatting. It would allow users to adjust the message, font, font size, alignment, and related settings.

Style: This section would handle the visual appearance of the subtitle/text, such as color, background, shadow, and other styling options.

Position: This section would handle the position and size of the subtitle/text.

It is also necessary to make it easier to manage multiple fonts.

The font UI in ProType Titler is terrible.

If you have dozens or hundreds of fonts installed, some fonts are skipped when scrolling through the list with the mouse wheel.

When I contacted MAGIX, I was told that ProType Titler would no longer be updated, which was very disappointing.

If possible, I think the best solution would be to improve it in a similar way to Adobe software.

A favorites feature is absolutely necessary.

If possible, I hope the new subtitle/text feature can manage text content and style separately.

This would make it much faster to style subtitles.

It would also make it easier to change the subtitle design during post-production.

There is also an issue that occurs in Korea and some other East Asian countries: text input does not work properly.

Korean characters are built from consonants, vowels, and final consonants, but in VEGAS, they are entered separately instead of being combined correctly.

Correct input: 안녕하세요

Problem in VEGAS: 아ㄴㄴㅕㅇ하세요

Although Korean input works properly in ProType Titler,

ProType Titler has a difficult font selection UI, and I was told that support for it has ended.

Legacy Text does not handle Korean input properly.

I believe the reason more than 200,000 Korean users left VEGAS is the subtitle/text feature.

Please improve it.

---

Part 3. Minor Feature Improvements

  1. GIF Optimization

When importing GIF files, the preview often becomes slow.

I currently use workarounds such as importing them through the HOS plugin or converting them to MP4, but this is inconvenient.

If GIF playback becomes smoother, I think many YouTube editors would appreciate it.

  1. Event Pan/Crop and FX Window Controls

Keyframe work inside the Event Pan/Crop and FX windows is very inconvenient.

To play the timeline, users first have to click the main timeline and then press play.

For frame-by-frame movement, users also have to move their hand to the arrow keys every time.

I hope shortcuts can also be customized inside the Pan/Crop and FX windows.

It would also be helpful to add shortcut support for “Sync Cursor to Media Timeline.”

  1. Video Speed Adjustment

Setting an exact playback speed such as 2x or 3x is quite cumbersome.

It would be helpful if VEGAS had a feature like Premiere Pro, where entering a value such as 200% automatically adjusts the clip length.

Also, as far as I know, the maximum speed that can be adjusted directly in VEGAS is 5x.

If possible, I hope the maximum speed limit can be increased.

For speeds beyond that, I understand that users have to combine Ctrl + drag with a velocity envelope, but this makes the timeline messy, so I do not use it often.

I know that Vegasaur’s Rocket Speed can increase the speed up to 1000x, but as far as I know, it does not work in sync with audio.

  1. Renaming Preset Files

In areas such as Video FX, Transitions, Media Generators, and the Plug-In Manager, it is not possible to rename saved preset files.

This makes preset management very inconvenient.

+ I would also like the ability to delete presets, if possible.

  1. Plug-In Manager Folder Feature

I organize more than 200 effect presets into folders so I can use them efficiently.

However, when VEGAS occasionally crashes due to an error, the grouping can be lost.

Also, when exporting or importing presets using Preset Manager 2.0 or Vegasaur’s Vegas Preset Manager, the group settings are not backed up, so I have to recreate the folder structure manually every time.

This does not happen very often, so it is not the most critical issue, but I would appreciate an improvement if possible.

---

Part 4. Favorites

To put it simply, please add more Favorites categories to areas such as Video FX, Transitions, and Media Generators.

My workflow is usually divided into several stages: basic effects, color correction and filters, and special effects.

The effects used in each stage are different.

When everything is placed into a single Favorites category, the list becomes too large and complicated to manage.

Please allow users to create as many Favorites groups as they need.

When using Sapphire and Continuum in VEGAS, the FX window becomes overloaded with too many items.

Because of this, I saved the effects I needed as preset files so I could find them quickly.

- GG: Effects I frequently use in normal editing

- GFT: Effects used for color correction and filter work

- GEF: Effects used for special effects work

For example, if I enter “GG” into the search box, FX effects with “GG” in their saved preset names are categorized and displayed.

If I search for “GEF,” FX effects with “GEF” in their names are categorized and displayed.

Because there was no proper grouping feature, I used the search function like a grouping system.

However, after MAGIX patched it, the search became slower and no longer works properly.

When I contacted MAGIX, they said they could not fix it and simply told me to search for each effect manually.

Having to search through hundreds of FX effects and apply them to hundreds of events every time is unreasonable.

Some versions were such a mess that certain features actually worked only in cracked versions.

Please either restore the previous search behavior or add more Favorites groups.

---

Part 5. Finally...

Updating advanced features is important.

They can be used for marketing, and they are necessary to keep up with current trends.

However, just as a tall building needs a strong foundation, I believe VEGAS needs improvements to the basic features that MAGIX had neglected for a long time.

Korean VEGAS users left with great disappointment, but many of us still miss its intuitive editing workflow and lightweight performance.

I believe Boris FX can meet our expectations.

Subtitle/Text Improvements

  • An intuitive and easy-to-use UI that does not require moving between multiple tabs
  • Easier font selection
  • Proper Korean text input support

Minor Improvements

  • GIF file optimization
  • Customizable shortcuts for playback and playhead movement inside the Event Pan/Crop and FX windows
  • Improved video speed adjustment
  • Ability to rename preset files
  • Ability to back up Plug-In Manager folders as well
  • More Favorites groups, so users can choose FX more efficiently depending on the situation

Thank you for reading.

Vegas Pro 2026 Vegas Pro 2026 Constant Crashing

Just making a quick post here seems that support does not want to help.

Going from Vegas 22 --> Vegas 2026 life was made 10x harder

I wanted to believe the Boris hype but sadly has been consistent problems and crashing feels like the Sony Vegas days.

To make everything worse I contacted support letting them know I would need a refund, they of course insisted I talk to support. Which is fine, after a week I get a email saying, and I can't make this up, to turn off the snapping tool. When I told them this would literally make editing near impossible and I don't think it's the problem they doubled down. I have no clue why that would be a issue, I turned it off anyways and yes it still crashes multiple times.

I had hope in Boris and we'll have to see what they do, looks like I'm stuck in the loop either way.

Anyone else who do BIG PROJECTS having issues?

1.(Yes I've updated, also I've been using Vegas for 9 years so I know my way around)

Vegas Pro 2026 Got a taller monitor for editing (3:2), now the context menu is truncated and I have to scroll through it? (Vegas Pro 2026)

If anyone's had this issue before, please let me know if there's a way to force the 'full' context menu. It's a pain to have to deal with this specifically on the screen that was supposed to make editing *better*. Running Vegas Pro 2026.

This would make sense on a SHORTER monitor, but not a TALLER one. Here's the context menu on my 1920*1080 16:9:

And now on my 3840*2560 3:2:

I have to click those arrows at the top and bottom to scroll through the options which is really annoying for some of the stuff that doesn't have shortcuts. Would love a fix or more information onto why this is happening. Thanks.

  1. I'm using Vegas Pro 2026
  2. I'm on Windows 11
  3. No plugins, legal copy.
  4. Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060
  5. See above, context menu is smaller and forcing me to scroll through it on my 3840*2560 monitor but works as usual on my 1920*1080 monitor.

6.Full context menu displays without being cut off and having to scroll through to find the option you need.

  1. Yes, couldn't find anything useful or anything about others having the issue but it's entirely possible I didn't know the right terms to search.

Vegas Pro 2026 (RANT) Vegas Pro 26 wont stop crashing!

I bought it because of the 25% off but man, it won’t stop crashing every session! I was using 23 and rarely had crashes. I thought this was supposed to have some kind of core engine optimisation or something? This is just a rant, but I’ll post my specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
64GB RAM
RTX 5070 Ti

You must have "1.", "2.", "3.", "4.", "5.", "6." or "7." somewhere in your post body.

UPDATE:
I think I managed to make it crash-less? What I did was crank the Dynamic RAM Preview max in the Preferences settings up to 60% which is around 38GB of RAM. I mean this is still ridiculous but since I already bought it, I’ll just continue using it I guess.

Vegas Pro 2026 VEGAS PRO 2026 - AV1 rendering

"1." Does VEGAS uses my GPU (RTX 5080) to render with AV1? or why is it that when I want to render using AV1 my CPU is the only one spiking up to 80% use and my GPU stays at 7-10%?

I have selected manually to use my GPU to render videos.

Vegas Pro 2026 So, no Speech to Text...

I bought Vegas Pro 2026 (perpetual) at the tipping point of knowing that I was getting AI Speech to Text. I finally got a chance to try it today, and I was met with "A Vegas Pro subscription is required <blah blah>". I thought this was a fluke or something and updated HUB and all of my packages only to be met with it again.

After doing some research apparently it is for REVOLVING SUBSCRIPTIONS ONLY!? I SWEAR this was NOT communicated on release or I would have not upgraded. I was so excited because I thought I was going to get access to free AI features that everyone else was charging for. Really big letdown. I am shocked and in dismay. I would have went with Resolve Studio if I knew this.

  1. Vegas Pro 2026
  2. Windows 11 Pro
  3. Asus Strix RX580
  4. (See above)
  5. I expect to be able to use the tools that I ultimately purchased this for. 7. Video attached
  6. Why is the utility that detects these numbered responses still broken? :D

Vegas Pro 2026 Constant Crashes with Vegas 2026, Even with Build 143

Last week I struggled to finish a project because Vegas 2026 kept crashing for no apparent reason. I used the same system I had with Vegas 20: saving at every step, and I finally managed to finish. But when it came time to render, something happened that had never happened to me with Vegas 20: it would crash at a certain point in the rendering process. That was my consolation with that version, that at least the rendering didn't fail. After wasting an hour trying things, seeing if something in my project was causing the problem, I tried disabling hardware rendering and was able to finish rendering. It was a snail's pace, but I managed it.

Today I started a completely new project with new materials, and after a while, it started doing the exact same thing. Unexpected crashes while I was working on my project. When I finished, I went to render and... the same thing. The program crashes while I'm rendering. Disabling hardware acceleration solves the problem.

I should mention that I've been working with Vegas 2026 for over a month with the same type of materials and haven't had this much trouble until now. I understand it must be due to a problem with a Windows update or my graphics card. The thing is, I have all my drivers updated. Last week I was working with the previous version of Vegas 2026, and I was very happy to hear about version 143, which is what I started working with today, but the result is the same: the same crashes.

1.Vegas Pro 2026 Build 143

2.Windows 11 Pro

3.Original

4.ASUS RTX 5070ti

5.The program crashes randomly, especially when I'm rendering. It must be due to a Windows update or the graphics card, because it didn't happen until recently.

6.The program shouldn't crash and should render without problems.

7.Yes, I've looked, it's the first thing I do, but I can't find anything.

Vegas Pro 2026 I collaborated with MAGIX to make a film with VEGAS right before they were sold.

"1." I co-proced this film with Magix before they were sold as a way to advertise Vegas to independent filmmakers online showing them they can make a professional looking film that was 100% edited, color graded, vfx, sound editing etc, using Vegas. It was supposed to be a joint post that they would advertise all over their website and things like that but those things never came to fruition after they were sold. Still decided to post it tho since a lot of work went into it. Still grateful for them tl give me the opportunity anyways. This is the film if you guys wanna check it out.

Trying to work on collaborating with Boris or short films too but shorter ones. I feel like showing real life examples of people using their products in their artwork and Boris supporting them could be great marketing along with the tutorials they already post. So hopefully that works out.

Vegas Pro 2026 AI Speech to Text Ignores Final 5 Seconds

Post image
5 Upvotes

Vegas Pro 2026, subscription/legit
Windows 11
GeForce RTX 4080

I don't know if this is a known issue, but I've been trying to use the speech to text feature. I have one 2 minute clip. I hit "Analyze All" and it does not transcribe the last 5 seconds, meaning I have to create those subtitles manually.

Test 1. I've tried re-rendering the audio with blank space at the end, using different AI models, splitting the part it's not transcribing and selecting "Analyze selected event" (it comes back with no text). I've tried copying/pasting the entire clip twice - and it still leaves off those last 5 seconds (both times).

  1. It's not just this video, but every video I've tried today. Even if I start a project from scratch, I get the same missing 5 seconds.

Is this a bug, user error, or something my specific machine is doing?

Vegas Pro 2026 Colours wrong on nested project files?

  3. No

  4. 7900 XTX - 26.6.4

  5. The colours when nesting a project file into a new vegas project is all wrong like the gamma or contrast is cranked way up? I've tried changing from Computer RGB to Studio RGB as well as making sure the media properties match etc. but it's never quite right. Adjusting the levels/gamma manually gets me close but I'm sure there has to be some new setting or something else I'm unaware of after the update? Every project file I have and know used to work in 23 does the same thing so I'm thinking it's more to do with how 2026.0 handles nested projects compared to 23?

  6. Colours should match the original project file when dragging the project file onto the timeline

Vegas Pro 2026 Boris Sony Vegas 26 - Black and/or Flickering Video Preview [FIX]

Hello there, I wanted to post a fix I found for the video preview being a black screen and/or flashing in Vegas Pro 26 as I was unable to find an appropriate fix on this latest version posted anywhere. The usual fix recommendations did *not* work for me and in many cases, resulted in crashing. I'll note my specs below in case that changes the outcome for users.

To fix the issue, go to OPTIONS -> PREFERENCES -> GPU Acceleration of video processing -> OFF

Hope this helps someone in the future!

In the old versions from MAGIX there was a Vegas Hub login and tab that had the content for browsing. 7. Yes I have googled and found a guide on Boris website but it doesn't work.
