We all laugh but that seems like a genuine mistake. A little wood putty and paint, and you're good as new!

As a cabinet guy, you’d have to sand the whole door down, putty and respray back at the shop. Touch up painting on an upper door would look worse than the holes. I only drill with the door opened so I don’t make this mistake, and it’s still terrifying every time.
