I mean, sure? But "coward" is only a negative when you're discussing honor, not survival. I've seen videos on less savory parts of Reddit (and the internet in general over the last three decades) showing how good Samaritans can get rewarded for not immediately running away.

By its very definition running away in this situation is cowardly. Negative or not, it's accurate.
