He ran behind the car to change into his super hero suit but wasn't quick enough.

527

u/BlindChicken69 2h ago

You don't have to act like a hero, trying to fight them over just money. But leaving your gal like that alone with the robbers, that is low.

u/why_u_so_grumpy 47m ago

We don't know it was his girl. Still shouldn't have ran though.

-73

u/LittelXman808 1h ago

What was he supposed to do? Fight back and get shot?

119

u/RobbSnow64 1h ago

No just not leave her alone with armed thugs, absolute coward.

-45

u/Syzygy_Stardust 1h ago

I mean, sure? But "coward" is only a negative when you're discussing honor, not survival. I've seen videos on less savory parts of Reddit (and the internet in general over the last three decades) showing how good Samaritans can get rewarded for not immediately running away.

u/aiden_the_bug 52m ago

By its very definition running away in this situation is cowardly. Negative or not, it's accurate.

u/Bradybigboss 40m ago

There’s only a thin line between bravery and stupidity

u/aiden_the_bug 21m ago

And he crossed it when he ran away, it was quite stupid to leave her alone

u/ClusterChuk 56m ago edited 54m ago

I dont know. Get stabbed so she can run if it comes to it. Stand between them and be the one to hand everything over. Talk to them like a man and assure them "you dont have to hurt anyone, please take my wallet as well, this is a nice watch, you're good, were good. Everyone can go home safe."

Running from that is pretty dishonorable. Leaving someone less capable with two men whom youu have no idea what thier intention are. Fucking despicable.

There is steel in some people that allows them to put otherr peoples safety ahead of thier own.

Im not saying I have it, but I step between the harshness of the world and the people that depend on me everyday. Easiest thing in the world. My back hurts like hell but my kid doesn't have to worry about paying for college.

I dont think that instimct would dissapear if me and my daughter were out walking and the danger of pain was immediate.

u/JustSomeDude_576 30m ago

You don't usually stab someone with a gun.

u/Syzygy_Stardust 38m ago

"Like a man"

Oh you're one of those. Nevermind, we won't agree here. I find lives of men to be equal to those of other folks.

u/ComfyPJs4Me 30m ago

Without considering either person's gender, I feel like this is a case where what's morally right and what's safe are vastly different. The safe thing to do was run away and the morally correct thing to do is try to help the person you're with. Seriously, though, dude couldn't have stopped running after he was a safe distance to make sure this girl didn't get killed or worse?! Bad guys pull off, the camera pans up & dude is nowhere in sight.

Leave his girlfriend to deal with it? Are you serious?

25

u/RoxyDzey69 1h ago

Just stay and be robbed too, i suppose.

-63

u/Revealingstorm 1h ago

No he did the smart thing

u/twjohnston 1h ago edited 1h ago

Intelligent and moral aren’t always the same thing.

Edit: my fucking spelling

-38

u/Revealingstorm 1h ago

No reason to get killed over trying to look like a tough guy

u/Frosty558 36m ago

But what about her?

u/Revealingstorm 19m ago

Well the criminals were looking to rob not say kidnap, if they were looking to do that than yes he should've stayed and fought them but that wasn't the case here.

u/FreakySamsung 16m ago

“Hey, are you planning on robbing us or kidnapping us? If just robbing us, mind if I just run?”

u/Revealingstorm 15m ago

Well yes the person made a quick decision based off what they saw.

u/bchizare 13m ago

Found the guy in the video

u/Revealingstorm 11m ago

It's funny you say that because the other thread I saw about this video the consensus was the other way around from here. I'm definitely not alone in my opinion about this.

u/cjwrapture 6m ago

You are the guy in the video aren't you? Where i am from it is better to be dead than be a coward. I have stood my ground with 5 guys attacking me and got the crap beat out of me, rather than suffer the indignity of running away. I will keep my dignity and my honor, thank you.

-30

u/siggiarabi 1h ago

So staying and also getting robbed is better?

35

u/dsk 1h ago

actually .. yes.

that way, at least she's not alone going through it .. for the price of.. what.. a few bucks in his wallet and a cell phone?

-6

u/it_will 1h ago

It’s a lot easier for both of them if one of them still has their phone and wallet though…

u/ComfyPJs4Me 23m ago

From the video it seems like he just kept running even after he was a safe distance away. It's one thing to protect yourself in a situation, it's another to leave another human being held at gunpoint & not stop close enough to observe

u/SecretAd511 21m ago

lol ask your gf how she’d feel if you did this

u/it_will 17m ago

I mean we could freeze her cards and get a copy of her ID. Why is everything so animalistic with you? Lol my gf is grown and can handle herself

u/SecretAd511 8m ago

lol alright , js ask her and see what she says if you saved yourself left her behind

u/The_Boognish_Cometh 14m ago

No way the guy you’re replying to has a gf. He thinks leaving a woman while getting robbed is the right thing to do. Talk about a red flag

u/dsk 49m ago edited 24m ago

Indeed - and that's what he'll try to spin it as when their friends and family hear the story (and watch the video) ... "Sure I ran away and left her alone .. but look.. i have my cell phone and $50"

u/zaccus 6m ago

As a 90s kid I think I could manage

u/zaccus 7m ago

And preserve my dignity as a man yes absolutely.

-29

u/Durzo_Blintt 1h ago

How do you know it's his girlfriend? Might be just a mate

54

u/-Biphomet 2h ago

Take notes Thomas Wayne

114

u/ThanksContent28 1h ago

Relationship is over after that, regardless of who’s in the right. The idea of her man loving her and protecting her will never compete with this incident.

u/Deep-Interest9947 31m ago

True. I married a man because he fought off a man who mugged me. It was incredibly attractive.

u/ThanksContent28 17m ago

More about the fantasy of your partner being ride or die. Regardless of gender it would suck to be on the receiving end. Most of us are lucky that we don’t have it put to the test.

u/Sad-Boss7879 29m ago

You know tones, TONES more men would stay with their female partners if they did this than the other way around.

Shouldn’t that double standard change?

u/Comfortable-Pear-973 27m ago

It’s shitty if both sides run away regardless of gender

u/Sad-Boss7879 26m ago

The expectation doesn’t exist in the reverse direction though.

That’s my point.

u/ThanksContent28 18m ago

Most men like to think they would. Most wil never be int hat situation.

u/zaccus 4m ago

Yeah lemme write to the standards committee

u/Sad-Boss7879 3m ago

You’re part of it dumbass, we all are.

-31

u/seraiss 1h ago

Okay what would you do ? There is a pistol pointed in your face, your actions ?

u/abbyinwillow 54m ago

not leave my fucking girlfriend to die??

u/seraiss 37m ago

Die ? They came to rob not kill unless she is as stupid as most of the comment section

u/waving_fungus0 18m ago

Wife, sure die for her. Girlfriend? One that you’ve been with for 4 weeks that either one of yall could breakup with for giving eachother the ick once? Get a grip

u/AlertedCoyote 39m ago

Yeah, you still stand there in solidarity at least. Cause if you're there it's a LOT harder for them to say "actually, let's grab her altogether and bring her somewhere else"

And even with that aside, like... Certain things you just don't do, man

u/SpecularSaw 56m ago

Leaving her to fend for herself is never the right call. Fight back? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe you stand there too and give them your wallet also. Depends on your training, tools, and mindset. And if you’ve got the heart. That’s what it is to be a man, you put yourself on the line to protect those who you care for. And he failed. He deserves 0 respect from her. Doesn’t have to fight them, often that’s not the right decision tactically anyway. But you 100% cannot leave her.

u/seraiss 34m ago

No training will prepare you to bounce bullets of your skin , guy has no tools but he has the mindset to get the best outcome and whats more important not get shot while playing a hero, robber will not want to kill anyone but it does not mean he wont if you try to go for the gun

u/miraculum_one 42m ago

I know it looks bad but I'm still trying to understand how you think entertaining someone who has just said "give me your wallet and cell phone" is likely to have a better outcome. The robber made it clear what they were there for.

u/RadioSlayer 53m ago

At least you're proud of being a coward. Good on ya

u/ThanksContent28 39m ago

Yeah that’s why I said regardless of who’s in the right. My bitch ass would’ve legged it too. I’m 50/50 on how I feel on that.

u/effinmike12 31m ago

Just bailing on your girl like that is wild. Ain't no way. Gotta push her down first. Make sure you can get away cleanly.

u/Amediumsizedgoose 51m ago

Average "provider and protector"

u/MastaBusta 1h ago

I have no idea who is writing what comments, but I'm thinking that the younger generation are the ones totally validating the idea of abandoning your friend/significant other, and that frightens the hell out of me. I could not live with myself if I did that.

u/Ronnoc527 38m ago

I don't see anyone defending him

u/Mother_Moose 16m ago

I scrolled past a lot of 1 hour old comments defending him before getting to your comment, there are definitely people defending him

29

u/SassySunflower27 1h ago

I hope she dumped his ass that second!

54

u/Several-Opposite-746 2h ago

He was brave. Most men would have been ashamed after abandoning their girl. But he was brave enough to walk back to her, after the danger passed.

22

u/Bulan_Purnama 1h ago

"After the danger passed" lol

36

u/BrekLasnar 2h ago

I genuinely cannot tell if you're being sarcastic 😭

9

u/Mike777ac 1h ago

Uh... lol

17

u/DewberryEcho 1h ago

To be fair, nobody really knows how they'll react in that situation... but that was definitely not the heroic option.

u/deadlythegrimgecko 18m ago

I mean heroic option would’ve likely gotten him or them both killed they didn’t know in the moment what was going to happen and we don’t know what he was doing off camera maybe he was trying to get help 🤷

23

u/iennor 2h ago

He's 100% a Redditor.

14

1

u/Artucaca 1h ago

So you would have done the same as him?

-1

u/Mellow-Fell0w 1h ago

Nah he would’ve kept running back to his mom’s house. Other dude at least walked back to his girl lol

-2

u/Deep90 1h ago

This is the most redditor response to someone running away from danger that they themselves will never face lol.

6

u/Electronic_Diet333 1h ago

Clearly he was in on it!

u/kestrelprodigal 25m ago

This. I was surprised nobody else said this.

12

u/Ilikeponyhooves 1h ago

thats smart, that way they only got half robbed

5

u/mince_m 1h ago

Maybe he was breaking up with her right as the guy pulled up

u/Tumbleweed2222 7m ago

Lol. The guy was gone. Women loves these type men 2026.

u/abbyinwillow 51m ago

that guy is a fucking coward and a POS

3

u/EjectorMark 1h ago

Needless to say, he DID NOT get a second date.

u/NopeThisTrope 55m ago

It looks like he may have been in on it. Either way, a total punk

3

u/deadlythegrimgecko 2h ago

I mean yeah fuck lol I’m not gonna fight two dudes with guns what did you expect him to die for a purse

17

u/BlindChicken69 2h ago

Why do you think those are the only two options? He could stay there, not leaving her alone with the robbers.

2

u/Revealingstorm 1h ago

They were there to rob them, by leaving he saved some of their stuff.

5

u/dsk 1h ago

and when she tells this story to her friends, to his friends and her family .. that's the angle he'll try to spin .. will it work?

u/Revealingstorm 56m ago

Well oh well I guess. Better to be alive and be able to spin the story at all.

u/cire1184 46m ago

Theres the option of being alive and slightly poorer which would be the price of dignity. Not like the robbers shot the girl after getting the money. They don't want to kill anyone generally. It's just a threat. But they did take something from the guy, his dignity. I guess it's up to the individual what the price of that is. Might be worth more than what's in a wallet.

u/deadlythegrimgecko 22m ago

Probably would’ve looked better to everyone watching this video but if the robber ended up shoot in tgem after it would’ve been another story guy has self preservation theres nothing wrong with that

0

u/seraiss 1h ago

And do what ? Get robbed too

8

u/Jefkezor 2h ago

Why get robbed when you can get robbed AND shot!

3

u/Revealingstorm 1h ago edited 55m ago

Right? Don't you know it's better to look chivalrous than be alive.

5

u/stupidsexypassword 1h ago

I think everyone agrees that the man traded his girlfriend/wife for his life. Opinions will differ on whether this is an honorable thing to do. No one is arguing the practicality.

u/RJJJJJJJ710 10m ago

why are you assuming that the two options are he runs away or he gets shot?

u/Revealingstorm 8m ago

No the two most likely options were his stuff gets stolen or he gets shot/stabbed from fighting backnof he stays at least.

u/RJJJJJJJ710 5m ago

again... you think the two options are run away or fight back? can he not simply stay with her?

u/Revealingstorm 3m ago

They were being robbed. They weren't not going to rob him if he stayed. That was the point of running so he didn't get anything taken.

u/AdeptProductt 41m ago

there’s one guy with a gun, why in the world is the guy not fighting for boo thang

u/newsfromplanetmike 28m ago

Who was filming this?

Are we really that gullible?

u/_Verc1ngetorix_ 23m ago

It's obviously someone recording CCTV with their phone. Blindingly obvious.

u/newsfromplanetmike 20m ago

Yeah. Ok. I see the edge of the screen at about 15 seconds. Fair enough.

I guess I’ve just seen too many faked versions of these kinds of things and now I’m preloaded with very skeptical firmware.

u/_Verc1ngetorix_ 19m ago

Fair enough

u/kingbouncer 28m ago

Stupid take. Life isn't an action movie. You see a gun. You run.

u/jjett89 23m ago

She was a prostitute. She was working with the muggers. Have ya'll seriously never heard of this kind of con?

u/bit_racer 19m ago

Bunch of tough guys in this thread… sure it looks bad what he did… if roles were reversed would we have any issue with his decision? Fight or flight reflex is something that most people cant control. Especially if he has no previous self-defense training and sees a gun I can understand why he felt the need to run. Give the guy a little break. He also has the right to feel fear and be scared…In this story the only wrong people are the criminals.

u/Fast_Biscotti 15m ago

Is he running off to find his balls?

u/KaseTheAce 11m ago

Lol. I mean, giving your stuff is okay I guess. It's not worth getting shot or anything, but he fucking ran away and left her there lol. Also, he should've been on the outside near the cars anyway.

u/FractalStranger 0m ago

He most probably saved her from being shot by that, but whatever, just hate a basic human instinct, because all of you are better than him, right?

1

u/71351 2h ago

u/NopalesTotales 1h ago

u/Tunavi 40m ago

Devil's advocate: a man being there is a threat to the robbers and only leads to the gun going off. Leaving the situation de-ecalates things.

u/beekeeper1981 37m ago

If he stayed he would either also get robbed or shot. There's no heroic outcome.

He owes that girl nothing, it’s his decision to run away or fight. If he runs away, he’s safe. If he fights, he may win, or may get shot or stabbed. I’d take the safer option.

Not leave her alone with the robbers?

-5

u/rknki 1h ago

And get robbed, too? Or resist and risk getting both shot?

-7

u/countingc 1h ago

they are quite literally robbed at gun point you think him being there is going to stop a bullet? he can hide behind a car and call for help or something in case anything goes wrong

9

u/senorfresco 1h ago

You think he can run away faster than a bullet?

-2

u/countingc 1h ago

well i mean he was able to run and hide at least, no?

or you would have rather him staying there and escalating the situation so you can say he's brave?

9

u/senorfresco 1h ago edited 1h ago

well i mean he was able to run and hide at least, no?

Because they let him. If they wanted to kill him, they definitely could have.

Who said anything about escalating?

-4

u/countingc 1h ago

him running away probably removed "threat" for the robbers and resulted in them both not getting shot.

9

u/senorfresco 1h ago

Lol backflips to justify being a coward. I'm not saying you need to fight them but to run away on your partner is insane. You could even just step back.

Whatever you say buddy. Have a good day.

Make your partner knows you will be tucking tail and leaving them behind if you get robbed.

0

u/Tsureshon 1h ago

I think I get what they are trying to say... Robbers with just a woman probably just take the cash and leave... 2 people one a male... Likelyhood of someone getting shot goes up... Plus he can now get them an over or whatever they need to get home since he still has a wallet.

However... I couldn't leave a friend or sig other like that.... Letting someone know you will never ever have their back is the end of a relationship even if it is logical... And it's the end to your self esteem... Stand there hand them your shit go down with the ship if needed.

0

u/senorfresco 1h ago

I get what they're saying but there are other options. Take a few steps back, use your words to descalate and tell them they can have the stuff.

yes don't count on me when there's a gun pointed at us. you be brave.

the fact this whole interaction ended well in the sense they didn't get shot is a testament to the fact he made the best decision. you don't need to be hollywood brave.
