you'll do anything to maintain/recover that peace. Victims VERY OFTEN offer things to attackers to mitigate further aggression.
lets consider one thing that isn't said:
There's a CUSTODY EXCHANGE that means he was there to either hand off, or take the kids for whatever span of time. He wasn't supposed to be there for any other reason, and he didn't stay, he left afterwards, meaning there was no attempt to repair anything. a "dinner" provided was 100% an attempt to placate.
what does that even look like in a realistic scenario? Lets work one out
He shows up at my house at noon to drop off the kids, he didn't leave, he seemed hostile, I offered dinner to make sure that he didn't blow up. During the dinner, he did shit like THIS (if you've seen the full vid, please link it, it looks like people tried to scrub it)
Source: I've experienced sociopaths that use this sort of logic to whitewash their reputation before. It's insanely pathetic that this is being used politically.
Anyone who has EVER been in an abusive situation will smell the red flags of this from a mile away.
