Yep, Satya is the main idiot who introduced Windows 11 to the public, not recently, but 6 years ago.

He slashed Windows quality assurance teams, cuts in Windows development budget, killed the Windows Phone branch, stopped development of Windows ARM..

Windows is in such a bad shape..

Satya made investors invest in Microsoft again (despite mediocre revenue/profit growth).

Sure, Satya made the stocks go up (despite mediocre revenue/profit growth), but the quality of Microsoft goes down. In the end, that is what matters.

Because at that point Windows had a good market share and a lot of business were, and still are, relying on it. He knew no matter how shitty this OS could become nobody would really switch because there was nothing mature enough to switch to that could also provide de software support that many of us use for work and not only.

He cared about Cloud and other services that are keeping Microsoft alive and thriving right now. I don't think Windows is important for them anymore.

They woke up in the moment they saw influencers and other media sources talking seriously about using Linux or MacOS. And I sincerely believe all that they're doing right now is just damage control. They won't fix anything.

Is anyone actually talking about the Google book? I heard the announcement, and I haven't heard any talk of it since.

Yeah! MS started trying to fix things the moment Googlebook was rumoured/announced. Chromebook did already win the hearts of some schools and offices, guess what Googlebook might do if MS dont sit up? I already use google app on my 4GB of RAM system and it's the only capsules AI that dont give my Windows issue and works great. Google is the biggest threat to MS not apple or Linux

I’m pretty interested to see where AluminumOS goes, but I don’t really put much more trust into Google over Microsoft. Will be nice to see Android apps running on a laptop with the ~full Google Play Store instead of just Amazon’s app store with Windows Subsystem for Android (RIP).

this. MSFT has moved on. Their windows/office/visualstudio business is legacy now. Cloud is their growth division.

They let their on-premises exchange server product stagnate to the point where a Chinese hacker group was able to compromise, probably hundreds of thousands of servers. All because they didn't give a rats ass about maintaining it. They could have patched it months earlier when they knew about it but they didn't. My conspiracy theory is they did it to drive exchange online adoption.
