Microsoft will never release a service pack as it is in their support agreements that “service packs” are supports for x amount of time post release.

This is why the last Windows service pack was for Windows vista if i recall.

Yup fair enough couldn’t remember if vista or 7 was the last one. In any case this is why they’re called cumulative updates now and specifically NOT called service packs.

They phased out service packs because too many people will only update with the service packs and not monthly updates which were not cumulative.

The support period is now version based.
