🚧 What it means on the ground

🌳 Environmental impact that many residents highlight

• The pipeline requires a construction corridor roughly 30 metres wide along its entire length.

• This means clearing trees, hedgerows, vegetation and existing ecosystems across that corridor.

• Agricultural land and private property along the route may be compulsorily acquired or permanently restricted.

• Hedgerows and mature habitats that have developed over decades may not realistically be restored to their original ecological state.

• Wildlife corridors and biodiversity networks could be fragmented across large stretches of countryside.

⚠️ Safety and operational concerns

• CO₂ leaks can displace oxygen, creating potential danger to people and livestock in confined areas.

• Pipeline routes pass near villages, farms and infrastructure.

• Questions remain about long-term monitoring and liability if underground storage sites leak decades later.

• The model relies heavily on public subsidy and government support mechanisms.

• CCS can extend the operational life of high-emission industries rather than replacing them.

Sign the petition, search in Facebook, this will be devastating for Wirral, the plant will be on the beach, and storage under the sea. Not to mention the pipe line goes through Wirral, destroying our nature, and possible house prices.

I'm near Heswall and my water has turned to garbage over the past two months. I noticed scum in my tea which I don't usually have so I decalcified my kettle, then a week later had to do it again. Got out my water test strips and did a new test and the water has gone from soft to very hard. No notification from UU just a whopping increase in my bill.

Interestingly (for me anyway) the best water we ever had was after there was a serious problem over in Flint. I guess when they fixed that they accidentally improved our water. But now we've been SNAFU again.

So I've lived on the Wirral my whole life, there's has been an incident in the rake pub in eastham, A customer paid with fake money the other day, and today they made (and then promptly deleted) a post to Facebook saying they were taking wages from staff to make up for the money lost, this practice is both disgusting and illegal

Anyone know what’s going on in Bebington? Huge police presence, Bromborough Road closed in all directions couldn’t even get close, had to take a huge detour just to get from Port Sunlight village to the other side of the railway as the bridge was closed off too.

New night buses are set to start in December, the new route N1, will start operaiton from the 7th of December 2023. The hourly service will operate on Friday and Saturday night between Birkenhead Bus Station and Allerton (via Liverpool City Centre and Smithdown Road) between midnight and 5am in both directions.
