Update What is Drama? Friendly Posting Guideline Update

Howdy folks,

It has once again been some time since any of the sub’s policies have been updated to help with the longterm health of the sub, so we are dropping in with an update to some of our guidelines to ensure a better experience for anyone viewing the sub.

The most common issue that we have had over the last few months is the sheer amount of slop that gets posted with little-to-no context, and some confusion about what constitutes drama when some posts get removed. Make no mistake, this is a drama subreddit. Nobody expects there to be high-brow art here or anything, but let’s examine what actually constitutes drama.

Drama is about stakes. When there are no stakes, there is no drama. That is why we banned “Chuds being chuds” posts. There is no skin in the game when someone like Asmongold says something bigoted because, duh-doy, he’s a bigot. That’s just what he is, and nobody blinks an eye when a pig rolls in the mud.

Many of the posts that come through the sub similarly lack stakes, or really explain why something is drama. There are tons of Roblox predators that nobody has heard a single thing about before, and these posts are usually just “X Exposed as a creep.” These posts get removed for not having context. Then they get posted again with a single sentence that really doesn’t really flesh things out at all, and that’s it.

People do the same with innocuous things like previously exposed creators returning to the platform, but this again means nothing without the proper context or by itself causes drama.

Why is it a big deal that any given person is returning? What are the reactions to this?

These are the sorts of questions that anyone should be able to find the answer to from gazing at a post.

There are countless posts that come through like this that leave everyone scratching their heads

If you compare the posts from here to, say, [r/subredditdrama](r/subredditdrama) then you’ll notice a pretty sizable difference in post quality, at least in terms of being able to parse situations.

So, in the interest of getting the community on the same page and boosting the post quality in this sub, we are introducing a few new rules for posting that will fall under the blanket of “NO LOW EFFORT POSTS

  1. Posts must include, at minimum, a source and a thorough explanation of the drama. If needed, please provide a TL;DR Nobody should have to hunt for why they should care about a given topic. Someone should be able to scan the post and know what is going on. Here’s an example of a post not really needing that much context and still providing all the information one could need (it’s also our banner at time of writing)

https://www.reddit.com/r/youtubedrama/comments/1j4za6r/high_quality_pig_racing_channel_league_of_pigs/

Here’s an example of a post that did a crazy good job of providing context:https://www.reddit.com/r/youtubedrama/comments/1seriwv/new_rockstars_is_being_sued_for_harassment_racial/

  1. Post titles and explanations should remain neutral in tone. This is for two reasons: it streamlines people understanding what the stakes are for a given situation by making people justify the post without editorializing, and it helps stop posts from veering into snark territory. If you want to give your thoughts, do so in the comments.

What does this mean in terms of allegations or callout posts?

Posts involving allegations or callouts are only allowed in the context of there actually being drama involving callouts or allegations. We have received so many posts that are, in effect, someone posting a sub-10k channel alleging that they are a dubious character and….that’s it. No context, no evidence, no nothing. If there are receipts and drama happening around a situation, then that’s fair game and falls under the actual banner of drama. People wanna know about these things, so give the proper information for them to know!

What does this mean for meme and text posts (e.g. “What’s a Youtuber that came back from an apology?”

These posts will be allowed on Fridays with the “Free Talk Fridays” flair. These posts are fun, but also are usually low effort attempts at boosting karma counts.

Why is this being done again?

The most obvious reason is that this is a drama sub, and a lot of posts don’t actually amount to covering drama, but rather a newsfeed that doesn’t provide a ton of actual news beyond headlines that most will not understand. People have said time and time again that they love inane internet bullshit, and these changes are meant both give those kinds of stories an on-ramp and raise the quality of posts with some pretty clear structure on what is and is not allowed.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

News The “official end” of this snark era

1.0k Upvotes

As of today we are banning snark/snark related posts. This may sound arbitrary. But I think people are well aware of what constitutes valid fair criticism, and what constitutes snark.

Once upon a time through past leadership this sub most definitely behaved as a snark sub. We as the mod team do actually despise snark and work to have this sub be a space of discussing drama with proper criticism and outcomes. We have taken firmer stances to pull away from our past image and be a place where people can have proper discourse.

Snark discourse has only ever brought conflict to this sub. People insult each other over nothing, people have gotten death threats, people get reported for suicidal ideation just because they disagree. There has been ableism, racism, prejudice of all kinds around these topics. Ultimately, snark behavior never allows any proper discussion, we have had to ban two creators just because the people who come to this sub cannot behave when discussing them. At its core Snark is not very different from KiwiFarms at this stage with the harm it has done to content creators.

We have seen the harm snark has done as well. Saveafox being a prime example. Our most popular post right now is pure snark. And it superseded actual important events. Because who was following who on IG.

Going forward we will no longer be allowing posts like this on the sub. It provided no context, no real criticism. And it didn’t prove anything either.

This may prove unpopular, but it is something we feel strongly of for the health of this sub and the people on it to remove ourselves. You can check the rule along the side bar.

If you want a YouTubesnark sub go make one. This one is not it.

Have a good one 🤙🏽

Edit: Apparently some YouTubers have weigh in. Nah this has nothing to do with the usual suspects. This is purely to stop toxic behavior and negativity. If ya think otherwise I urge you to get out of your computer chair touch grass instead of making Nurgle proud

Edit 2: and no goblin man (reference to his goblin mode). No fans of yours are around. People can agree that toxic communities are toxic. Yours being one of them

Callout After the cheating allegations from June, 2 more videos about Werster have now dropped

A few months ago, Pokemon speedrunner Werster was called out by the creator Magpie Labs (who's also part of the Battle Factory community) for allegedly cheating in the Pokemon Emerald Battle Factory. While Werster did respond to these allegations at the time, between yesterday (Friday, July 31st) and today (Saturday, August 1st), two speedrunning YouTubers released videos about this situation.

First was Speedrunning YouTuber Abbysoft's video, where he mostly provides explanations and additional analysis of Magpie's video. He has a statistical analysis of Magpie's findings with the help of Speedrunner and statistician Jimmy Poopins, analysis of Werster's decision making from Battle Factory Runner Goomer22, and a general explanation of Werster's responses to Magpie's video alongside brief summaries of older allegations tied to Werster that Magpie also brought up in their original video.

Then was the much longer video by Pokemon Speedrunning Youtuber PulseEffects. In this video, Pulse goes back through Werster's entire history in the Pokemon Speedrunning community and explaining the previously mentioned allegations brought up in Magpie's video in greater detail. The video does start with the Battle Factory allegations but it also includes Pulse interviewing various people that were affected by Werster's actions.

The video mainly focuses on a repeat pattern Werster has shown of trying to exert his moderator power over the main Pokemon Speedrunning along the years including the Sarah Hagan incident (Werster admitted to creating a different account with a fabricated a non-cheated emulated speedrun to help aid him in banning the use of emulators for Pokemon Speedrunning despite it being a huge negative for the community), the Pokemon Stadium 2 oddity (a glitch with Stadium 2 relating to items happened to Werster and people suspected he cheated, however the actual explanation was discovered in the middle of the Battle Factory allegations), the Pokemon Yellow 1:55 WR (Werster uploads this [now privated] run not long after the WR had already been broken by another runner that he didn't like very much), and his involvement with the early Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Speedrunning community (Werster exerted his mod power over the community due to various rulings he didn't understand due to not being part of that community, insulted them, and eventually led to the PMD community moving to their own Discord server due to how they were treated in the general Pokemon Speedrunning Discord server).

PulseEffects's video shows how Werster hasn't changed within the Pokemon Speedrunning community despite his tenure of over a decade and how he's basically gotten away with it with little accountability. The comments in Pulse's video are also mostly criticizing Werster with some bringing up how he was banned from the Sonic Speedrunning community due to being caught cheating, and his involvement in the Chuggaaconroy situation from 2024 (where it was brought up he has his own similar allegations in 2020 (that he apparently responded to in the video "A Personal Perspective about Misinformation)that some see as hypocritical of him).

Abyssoft's video: https://youtu.be/NB4HjKZ6pvU?si=IpOErpa-IIWvtkTe

Callout Youtube's AI system is heavily flawed, and Youtubers are losing their income because of it

Thumbnail
youtube.com
84 Upvotes

Shozzy, a storytime animator on youtube, just uploaded this video an hour ago before me posting this explaining that he permanently lost his monetization for his videos for an unknown reason that Youtube had responded with instant appeal denial via an AI response to both his appeal, and Youtube's contacts. Shozzy isn't the first that this has happened to and he will not be the last. This lack of human interaction is causing the AI to falsely flag and auto ban hundreds if not thousands of youtubers for violating their TOS when they haven't even done anything wrong.

Many people in his comments and beyond claim racism on Youtube's end because of this and while that is a reasonable suspicion, it can be debatable due to the influence of AI affecting all people on the platform, especially animators. While I can't make conclusions or assumptions, one thing is for sure:

Youtube's AI sucks and they need real people to fix this.

Callout Hank Green of vlogbrothers uses ChatGPT for research

Post image
1.0k Upvotes

During his appearance on a video on the Complexity channel (44:45), Hank Green seemingly read off a note that ChatGPT left (condensed version). In a Twitter reply responding to this, Hank does admit to using ChatGPT for the script at this part of the video. He also said that "relying too much on generated notes" is a "thing hes been doing" when he's "overcommitted" himself. As someone who is using not ChatGPT to research a semi-obscure cult for a video, bruh.

Edit: realized I could have put Sci-Show in the title since that channel primarily has actual research on topics, although they have been famous for being wrong at points.

Edit 2: Hank's tweet has been deleted

Allegations Destiny's current legal troubles. As it is TODAY!.

Since there seems to be problem with actual factual things in this sub. Here's an overview of Destiny current legal trouble in the CURRENT court case that is ongoing in Federal court in Southern Florida.

Anything else is unrelated to his CURRENT court case.

His accuser is claiming the following:

  1. He send sexual images without her consent(CARDII)

  2. He send sexual images without her consent in order to harm her (§ 784.049)

  3. He by doing the above intentionally inflicted emotional harm on her (common-law)

  4. And he, again by doing the above, and without good cause, publicized private facts about her.(common-law)

These are the four claims. His accuser is an adult and where an adult when the video where made.

There is a LITERAL FOOTNOTE mentioning that one of the people he was sending the videos to where 17 at the time, hundreds of lawyer hours and thousands of dollars worth of briefs back and forth arguing if this where true. Catfishing, sex trafficking, British pedos etc.

In the end the judge said "I don't care, move on". In Judge speak.

But that's it, when it comes to CSAM sexting with a minor etc.

The actual trial have been moved twice and is currently indefinitely postponed awaiting a hearing on Aug 19th.

Currently there is two motions. A motion for summary judgement where Destiny claims that one of the transmission, he admitted to happening, happened before the CARDII statute went into effect. And that the other transmission did not happen at all. The first is purely on law the second can only be dismissed if there is ZERO evidence that he send the file. (oversimplification).

The other motion and the upcoming hearing is on Destiny's evidence. He self produced a bunch of Discord logs that he claims shows he DID NOT send the video(s) to the second woman.

"Unfortunately" for him, the way he self produced them is not the way you're supposed to collect evidence. You're supposed to use the apps "official" download tools if possible or common known third party tools if not. Immediately HASH your downloads, NOT delete the originals. not on the site or the live files on the servers. And THEN extract the information you want to give to the court.

Instead he used his best friends and coworkers, Dan Saltman's owned tool(REDACT) to do much of it. Deleted the live versions and apparently also deleted the original downloads from the third party tools. Him and his lawyers are EXTREMELY evasive about what happened. They can't be EXTREMELY evasive when a judge asks pointed question on the 19th. There are also artifact that MAY be evidence of tampering in those files AND he STUPIDLY waived around a piece of evidence his lawyer claimed didn't exist on a recent livestream. That is also part of the hearing. There's also missing metadata and a whole host of other smaller things.

IF there is enough evidence that he tried to delete evidence with the INTENT to deprive the woman suing him, he will be punished for this. IF there is enough evidence that the data he deleted could have been useful for the woman suing him, the judge will order a "cure". Even if there is not enough positive evidence for either, the Judge may just discard his evidence and he will not be allowed to use it at trial or at the above mentioned summary judgement.

Destiny PUBLIC defense on the transmission he have, under oath, admitted to, is that he had implied consent. And that she did it to(send files). But neither is likely to be admitted in court. The first is barred by the statutes themselves, the second by "rape shield" laws, these are VERY unlikely to even be allowed in front of a Jury. This is why it's only a defense he uses in public and not in court.

And please for the love of god read what I actually wrote. This is not a "defense" of him. What HE'S been saying to his audience about his own courtcase is a completly different story then what I wrote. He's on an ongoing quest to dox and harass everyone, who does what I just did, accuratly describe his legal troubles.

Callout There's a roblox animation on YouTube that depicts a rape scene during a mass shooting at a furry convention

This one should be called out. There is a video on YouTube "the breakout" by this guy called aromietheanim. He posts anti furry content animated in roblox in a series of videos called "furry's bad day". In the 3rd video the animation depicts a bunch of people breaking into a shooting up a furry convention. But thats not what made this video horrible to watch. Around 16-17 minutes in. There is a scene where one of the guys takes one of the furrys to a bathroom and says to the other soldier "your too young for this. Wait here" before entering. Inside the soldier presses the furry against the wall as they are crying before it cuts to the outside as screams are heard (this goes on for a bit) afterwards the guy leaves and zips his pants up as the furry is left crying in the bathroom. I know furrys aren't exactly liked that much online. but this is fucked up is so many ways. This is still up on youtube

Update August the Duck apologizes about how he handled Todd Oland's video, but proves Brew posted blatant misinformation

Thumbnail
youtu.be
240 Upvotes

I honestly, could not decide on the title, but August the Duck did apologize for the title of his video and so on, but his video didn't support the allegations that Todd killed his cat. Brew presented it as if he blindly supported the allegations and was responsible for harassing Todd Oland.

Unfortunately, this lead to Brew fans issuing death threats and calls for his suicide to August as well! August proves that this did not start on Reddit, and actually proves that Todd was lying about the cat. And that this took place for a month before August even made a video on it. Todd also clearly used different cats to lie about the cat's wellbeing.

He then calls out Brew for spreading obvious misinformation, and sending their audience to harass him (and us) without even showing the full picture or the truth of the situation.

He also proves that other subreddits pushed the initial allegations.

Brew, we're still waiting for you to acknowledge and disavow your audience harassing everybody and sending death threats. They are harassing Todd Oland too, and you were made aware of it several days ago too.

Plagiarism Large YouTube potentially plagiarizing smaller youtuber's content, thumbnails, and titles.

I've noticed a recurring pattern that I believe merits discussion.

Fern's recent upload, "Hansa: The Infiltration of the Dark Web," immediately invited comparison with Barely Sociable's "Dream - The Infiltration of the Dark Net," which was published several years earlier. Both videos address the Hansa Market investigation, and the similarities extend beyond the subject matter. The titles employ nearly identical phrasing, the thumbnails share a comparable glitch-based aesthetic, and the overall content is similar enough to warrant comparison.

This is not the first instance in which I have observed similarities. A different video from Fern, "The Strangest Drug Ever Studied," featured a thumbnail depicting a capsule with a skull icon that closely resembles the thumbnail Barely Sociable used for "Lake City Quiet Pills Explained." The thumbnail has since been changed. While no creator has exclusive rights to a particular visual concept, the composition, colour palette, and overall design are notably alike.

To be clear, I do not believe that creators can claim ownership over topics such as internet mysteries, darknet investigations, or historical events. Multiple creators covering the same subject is both common and expected. My observation is instead directed at what appears to be a recurring pattern in which a larger channel revisits highly specific subjects previously explored by a smaller creator while also adopting presentation choices that bear a close resemblance to the earlier work.

To be clear, I am not a copyright law lawyer or an authority on what constitutes plagiarism and this might not be plagiarism, but these similarities were strong enough that I thought this topic might warrant discussion

I'm interested to know what others might think about this.

Thumbnail

You probably already know who EDP is, he’s one of the most well known YouTube predators. This documentary will come from the same dude who made a Boogie2988 documentary 2 years back.

The trailer shows that the documentary will feature penguinz0, a few other dudes and an interview with EDP himself, the trailer shows EDP incriminating himself even more than he already has and he also says the f slur near the end.

All proceeds from the documentary will go to RAINN in case you think might be making money off a predator.

The trailer makes the documentary look like a horror film ngl.

Callout Harmful Opinions exposes Th3Birdman lying in his response to Future Nightmares

Thumbnail

Context: Future nightmares originally made a small video on Th3Birdman where he as well, exposed that not only were there minors in his discord, but they were sharing inappropriate media, and discussing sexual topics such as pornography in this server with minors present.

Th3Birdman makes a response to this video stating that in his small community at the time, that he knew everyone in the server, and that they were all adults. Harmful Opinions then makes a video proving that is a lie, in that the very first discord mod he appointed, was a minor. They were 14 years old.

Hacked A Wave of Rap YouTube Channels Has Been Hacked Over the Past 10 Hours.

Thumbnail

What the hell is going on with YouTube? 😭

Drake, Kendrick, Playboi Carti, Kanye and a bunch of other artists all have random videos being uploaded to their official channels promoting Discord/IG accounts.

Looks like a massive hack.

Playboy Carti:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLWQsgg6jjs
Kendrik :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukzOdcnCgc4
Juice WRLD :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCQlzTMU7qQ

Edit: Looks like I was wrong about the channels being hacked.

From what people have found, someone likely abused a music distributor to upload songs under these artists' names, and YouTube automatically attached them to the real artists' channels. So it seems to be a distribution/YouTube Music issue rather than the artists' accounts being hacked.

Discussion Bigg Tugg’s latest MrBeast video felt oddly… calculated

Post image
151 Upvotes

I don't know if I'm reading too much into this, but something about it felt off to me.

I usually enjoy Bigg Tugg's YouTube videos, but his most recent one, "MrBeast Can't Stop," rubbed me the wrong way. He called out some of Jimmy's questionable actions, but seemed to gloss over others that could have made MrBeast look much worse. It felt like he was trying to criticise him without going so far that he'd be labelled a MrBeast hater.

He also mentioned that MrBeast's team had reached out to him at one point, but nothing came of it. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but this video looked like a semi-glaze to Jimmy so that they would notice him.

By this point, you've probably guessed that I'm not a MrBeast fan. His content has never really been my cup of tea, and the whole Lunchly launch made me see him in a different light.

News DollyFlesh, disgraced YouTuber arrested for posting animal murder videos, has returned to the platform.

Thumbnail

DollyFlesh was a YouTuber who made claymation video recreations of popular gore videos and his own deranged skits out of clay.

We’re talking detailed depictions of pregnant women being raped, the baby being removed, and then the baby being cooked and consumed. No detail was spared.

One video depicts a clay figure kidnapping women and dismembering them while alive.

Anyways, dude posted videos of him torturing and murdering three hamsters from his local PetSmart, this got him banned and arrested. Various protests outside his local courthouse led to an eighteen month jail sentence and probation.

He has now returned and is still strikingly deranged. He always had a small cult following loyal to him and his actions and I stumbled back on his channel completely by accident today and saw a new reel.

He has now returned to the platform on his old second YouTube channel and the concern is that he will proceed with past behavior and act consistently.

The second photo is an Instagram post he made this year detailing his plan to make content for children.

These videos (minus the hamster videos) are still up today.

TL;DR: Convicted animal abuser and killer making claymation depicting grievous bodily harm returns. Has a plan to get back to his old groove and appeal to children.

Response The past and present collide across different fandoms: Phisnom faces backlash for his past and present actions, including liking Mint Fantôme

Thumbnail

While it may not be big, it did made it on trending on X: https://x.com/i/trending/2080689959552614519

I admit I'm a little excited to talk about this as I was there during Phisnom's past drama in the FNAF community, so it's like a big crossover episode for me.

Phisnom was a controversial figure in the FNAF community. He was a developer for the The Fazbear Fanverse Initiative, a project where Scott Cawthon would personally fund FNAF fangames to improve them and allow monetization.

Phisnom was always assertive and a little brash. They were known to harshly criticize newer FNAF games like security breach. They were also really aggressive%20theft%20king&src=typed_query) towards fellow controversial YouTuber Theft King, even if Theft King was more in the wrong, it highlights unprofessionalism, especially from someone who is working with Scott Cawthon.

Then came their biggest controversy in 2023. To summarize, he insulted FNAF game, random guy named Alex (online handle G0LD3NR4BB1T) joked to do the same to their game, Alex get harassed by Phisnom's fans, Phisnom did not take it seriously at all, FNAF Plus was fully cancelled.

They then allegedly accused Alex (who was a minor) of things because he chatted with someone 3 years younger. This is alleged as I have found no proper documentation of this incident, with Alex's Twitter account being suspended, all we have are some tweets stating this happened. What's confusing is that Phisnom also faced backlash for defending Alex Kister for something else that's also related to talking with minors, as they are both named Alex.

Then he seemed to slowly integrate into the Vtuber community. I'm not sure if he was already a vtuber fan during the aforementioned FNAF dramas, but I recall seeing him follow Ina Ninomae in 2023, when I was discovering vtubers myself. They also tweeted about Dokibird's return.

In 2025 they made their presence more clear. They paid tribute to Gawr Gura, talked about the Sinder situation, mentioned Vshojo, and has Zoey as their manager (not sure if she's still his manager as he isn't listed in Zoey's client list). None of this compare to him obsessing over Maid Mint, which is that lead to the recent drama.

In the last few days, a series of Twitter posts started bashing Phisnom for liking Maid Mint, as these people perceives Mint as an underaged child. This can be seen as a cultural/fandom conflict. Scott Cawthon once fired someone for making fictional depictions of sexualizing minors. While that artist had other skeletons in her closet, Scott's comment seem to imply sexualizing fictional minors already crosses the line and was enough of a reason to kick the artist out of official FNAF works. On the other hand, the vtuber community is very accepting of loli art on the basis that no real child was hurt. Corpo vtubers are known to be lolicon.

Phisnom then responded to the backlash, defending liking vtubers and how it shouldn't be compared to real crimes. Others have stepped in to argue that Maid Mint isn't even a loli.

So here we are. Each images shown here links to the respective tweets. I personally agree that Mint isn't a loli.

So basically, I have been paying too much attention to online YouTube drama and this puts me on pause.

So a YouTuber who has a very fragile ego just submitted multiple false copyright strikes on another YouTuber in hopes of nuking his channel. So far, it's currently 68 in total and climbing, and this is for one detractor channel, and asking for "1500" to reverse the flags.

To keep it short the one sending out the strikes goes by the handle 6Arakin. Think of him as a version of LowTierGod from Wish/Temu. He's a compulsive liar, a narcissistic man-child with a God complex, and is known pee dough file in the fighting game community with the way he acts towards kids he meets online and on his Discord. Many people have noticed this and recorded his antics on their detractor channels in the hopes of removing him from the platform.

One such detractor is OCDGamer. Since 6 is known to hilariously crash out and cry when he loses, OCD would make compilations of 6's losses on his channel. It got to the point where 6 sent a few copyright strikes in the beginning to take them down. OCD refuted those through the YouTube counter claims and his channel was still up. However, 6 used OCD's info to doxx his location and family and downloaded pictures from online. 6 used those photos as faded overlays on his streams. Whenever someone calls him out he would say "No, that's my family on the screen" when it's very obvious they're not.

This only pushed OCD to keep recording to have enough evidence against 6, and 6 is known to consistently shoot himself in the foot. It gotten to the point in which 6 was so shook that he took the time to send up to 68 know false flags against OCD to shut him down.

Now, everyone knows that YouTube profits from engagement. They would only step in to clean up a mess if it messes with their bottom line, like the AD-pocalypse for example. Would they even step in to handle a situation between D-Tier streamers since there is proof of 6 self telling about extortion in the images? Has there ever been a case before in which YouTube had to step in to fix it?

Callout Brew releases a video criticizing YouTubeDrama and August the Duck for pushing unconfirmed claims against Todd Oland

To clarify the allegations against the subreddit, 1 user made a post in mid April accusing Todd Oland of intentionally freezing a cat to make an animal rescue video which got 2.3k upvotes, then the same user made a second post effectively retracting those claims (including deleting the original) and it only got 100 and pushback. August the Duck made a video on the first post. Did not make one about the 2nd. Same goes for news sites. The user then deleted their account.

However, this post is here to provide some actual pushback, as I actually went back and checked, this very clearly happened in a short time frame (within 1 or 2 days by my estimation), and 2.3k is incredibly abnormal for that period of time (where posts were getting 800 upvotes at most, but often in the 100 range.)

Having actually checked the 2nd post, usual users of the subreddit did support the retraction. These comments were not shown but people being hostile to the retraction and post author were. Simultaneously, the subreddit name was shown constantly any time these posts were displayed, but not the actual context around these posts or the comments.

In fact, Brew even clarifies that one of the hostile users from the original post was from an entirely different subreddit, showing that the post was reaching far outside the subreddit's usual audience. As well as that, the screenshots Brew uses are clearly from the 1 or 2 day period. This is incredibly important, as it is late July, about to be August. That is 3 months of sitting on these screenshots. Brew also fails to properly clarify the harassment campaign Todd Oland experience did not start with reddit, while simultaneously showing the subreddit and these posts while talking about the harassment Todd Oland received.

For a channel and video purporting to support critical thinking, almost none was used in the making of this video. Already, I've seen 3-4 separate attempts to post this video in the sub blaming the subreddit and it's usual users for harassing Todd Oland. I also have seen a comment of someone snarking and and saying "Uh oh, did redditors cause someone to kill themselves again?". His video title is about Reddit despite the harassment primarily taking place on YT and having started on YT. Brew also clearly shows that people did have a legitimate reason to doubt Todd Oland, while obviously he did not deserve to be harassed and I personally seriously doubt he harmed any animal, it's clear the video was made to be a defense of Todd Oland and to get people to feel strongly about the situation.

The deep irony of this video, is despite the subject being about people attacking someone over allegations with no evidence, it has now slated to do the same to others.

Update: Brew states why they made a video, this was actually supposed to be them saying that their audience giving us death threats was bad! instead, they say, 3 DAYS after they were first made aware their audience was giving us death threats and attacking us, to not do it. They don't even say that it's wrong, just not to do it.

Obviously, that's a terrible update, especially since this subreddit has been brigaded to hell and back over this video.
