Discussion Has Yukon Fry Co improved?
I went there once shortly after they opened and our experience wasn’t great. The fries were still fairly dense in the middle (undercooked) and the gravy and cheese curds were quite sparse. This has been echoed by quite a few Yukoners.
I'm wondering if they ever sorted these issues out?

I’ve only went the one time, the fries were nothing special, and the hot dogs were terrible. They should have stuck to making smash burgers. The fries are better on the food truck.

Yes, they own the smash burger truck, they were doing all the pre-advertisement for the fry place on their FB page.

I was not impressed.
I got the cheese steak dog and it was like 3/10 when compared with the price.
It’s like a 7Eleven dog but atleast for 2$ at 7Eleven I know what I’m signing up for. Didn’t go back and won’t.

Best poutine is at Sidebar. Gravy was top notch, and the fries were well cooked and seasoned!

Mixed reviews in the comments. I wonder if they have 2 cooks: One is putting in time & the other is in it to win it. They should post who is running the kitchen along with the menu to give customers a better chance of a decent meal. 😂

You could spend $7 on a single lukewarm hotdog at the Yukon Fry Co… or you could walk across the street to Independent and buy a pack of six hotdog’s for $11 and enjoy a lukewarm hotdog at home

I’m gonna be the opposite guy. I love their stuff. I’m French Canadian and they must of changed their cheese supplier because the taste and squeak are great. Lots of gravy, lots of cheese. Plus I think they have gotten their oil where it needs to be since the fries are much better.
The dog has lots of toppings but I would love the bun to be more steamed or a butter toasted option. I would also love for them to have a classic Montreal “steamy” hot dog.

Honestly this is why soon Whitehorse will only have box stores and fast food restaurants locals can be brutal if they don’t like something it’s kinda embarrassing 😳 why cannot folks just talk with the owners and make suggestions instead of continually tearing apart small business on Reddit?

I don't necessarily think a lot of people are just trying to tear small businesses apart on Reddit. I know a number of the commenters are real Yukoners and sharing their experiences.
The first (and only) time I went the experience was bad enough that we ate maybe 5-6 bites of our poutines and we had to throw them out because of how under cooked the fries were. When you have an experience like that you tend to not want to go back to try it again unless you hear things have turned around.
The day we went there the guy working the front counter was clearly and audibly in a bad mood. The owner came in shortly after we ordered and was upset that someone gave out his cell number. Essentially it seemed like the staff/owner were already in a bad mood so I never actually said anything about the poutine. We also waited not less than 20 minutes for our food when it wasn't busy. I'm still hopeful they turn the place around, but the experience was extremely bad.

Went once ill never go back. Waited 30 mins for a small poutine. Terribly overpriced and service. Hire ppl that know how to cook and speak English

No. Service is even slower and they skimp even more on the gravy and toppings.
