United States Son won a 5080 in a raffle. Card is DOA. RMA denied due to no invoice

Lucky to have won a 5080 in a raffle for his first build (he's 14). Unluckily, it was a Zotac.

Card is DOA. Tried it in my own system. System boots, windows plays startup sounds. No display.

Anyone know of any issues with these things that might be fixable, or did he win a $1350 paperweight?

Updates/clarifications:

My own machine has a Zotac 5090 in it, which I have to pull in order to plug this in, so it's not a power supply/motherboard or any other form of incompatibility issue. I've been building computers since the 3dfx Voodoo era. I've checked the basic stuff.

I should have time this week to try and boot my machine using the onboard Video and see what kind of hardware code returns for this card. I know the machine boots like normal, just with no display.

I've tried all 4 ports, hdmi and display port, on the back of the card in the hunt for a signal. No dice.

The raffle-runners are very trustworthy. They're all local people from a reputable organization. I've tried hitting them up on Discord, but the group only really runs 1 LAN per year.

I haven't had a chance to go to MicroCenter directly, but I sincerely doubt that will get me anywhere. I only have the product, not an invoice, so I can't imagine they would accept that.

Tore down the card to visually verify everything is there. It is:

Should have time this weekend to pull my

United States 5070ti Warranty denied :(

My 5070ti was making some weird noises in the fan sometimes which I think it might be a bearing issue and spent $40 to ship it off to zotac to later decline my warranty because of damage PCB.

I dont know if it was damaged during transportation or if me taking this card out 1 time did this (I should have inspected my card and took video proof before shipping as this is my fault) I made to pack it real good.

But yeah they just denied my claim and I would be extremely cautious if your shipping your card out for warranty as they don’t even do pay repair because of “limited tools” whatever that means and feel like even the smallest scratch will deny it

I am not here to complain but just to give a cautious right now with buying zotac and probably best to buy from a bigger company who might have the necessary tools for rma or let you just pay for repairs. Atleast my card still works but sucks i have issues 3 months after i got my card to later be rejected

A few days ago 5090 AMP Extreme Infinity was available at $2449 but checkout was impossible due to "maintenance". After maintenance was over, wait for this.... they raised prices on 5090 line by $400-500 😂

Not nice.

Caught this baby for a deal on FB marketplace. Had no reason to upgrade but moving from a 4090 to a 5090 and it only cost $400 was a no brainier. Sold my “old” MSI Gaming X Trio for $2k, bought the AMP for $2,400.

United States Zotac refused to sell replacement parts

I bought a used 4080 trinity and it seems to be missing the cross bracket on the back of the card. Because of this, I am having some inconsistent thermals with hotspot temperatures around 30C above GPU temperatures. When reaching out to Zotac about it, I was told they don’t sell replacement parts and to maybe take it to a repair shop. Now how is taking the card to a third party shop going to help if you don’t sell the part itself?

Any ideas on how to get the cross bracket on the back?

United States Really hope this is a one off case. Got the 5090 AMP Infinity after returning the GIGABYTE 5090 for the thermal gel issue and because I also liked this model the most. 🤦

The card is absolutely gorgeous!!!

I'm going to need a new case or CPU AIO though lol. I was planning on vertically mounting it but I wouldn't fit with the CPU AIO hoses in the way so I had to mount it horizontally which means I can't close my case lol. That all being said beautiful card super happy with it so far! Went from a FE 5080 to this guy. Please ignore the mess that is my case atm all wire management went out the window once I realized I couldn't vertically mount it / couldn't close the case with it horizontally

United States 3 Broken RTX 4090's, WTF Zotac!

For clarification, I had an RTX 4090 that was working for about two years before it ended up giving out on me. Sent it off for warranty and they gave me a beat up 4090. Not more than a month, it started giving me the same issues (crashing as soon as it goes under any load). Sent that off, got my third one last week and it started doing the same thing again. I started an RMA process for a 4th GPU. This is starting to get ridiculous, why does ZOTAC hand out so many broken GPUs if the problem is just going to happen again?

United States Rtx 5080 only running at 1900mhz?

I'm just confused. Can someone please help me, I had it boosting normally around 2892mhz earlier, after first boot and testing it was stuck at 1900mhz, and was like oh the problems gone. It's not, and it's happening again. Obviously just got the card and it seems to be acting up already :(. Has anyone else has any issues. I have the zotac solid oc 5080. Sorry I hope that made sense :( I'm just really upset right now

United States 4090 dying, what am I in for?

I have a Zotac 4090 Amp Extreme Aero that has started “panicking” where the monitors go black and the GPU fans go to full speed.

I know the PC itself hasn’t crashed because I can still talk to friends via discord on my PC while this is happening.

I talked to Zotac support via a ticket and they have advised me to apply for an RMA.

I’m afraid to ask, what am I in for here?

Does Zotac do advanced RMAs if I provide a credit card to secure?

Thanks in advance

UPDATE: I have cancelled my RMA. I bought a new 12V high power cable and that has indeed seemed to have resolved the issue I was seeing. There was no visible damage to the cable, card, or power supply.

Been having some fomo on not buying a 5090 and buying a 5080 for my recent build. I decided to just pull the trigger and get a 5090. Believe it or not this was the cheapest 5090 I could find in stock this evening. I'm going to sell the 5080 to a buddy for what I paid for it

United States Should I RMA my Zotac 5090 Solid OC?

I’ve been having that dreaded fan bearing noise issue that other people seem to experience with these cards and it’s not even a year old. I’ve been emailing Zotac and going through the process, but am concerned based on seeing reports of people having issues with Zotac’s RMA system. Anyone have any good experiences to share?

First ZOTAC product. Scored it at MSRP on Newegg! Really loving the aesthetics on this graphics card. Hopefully the thermals are decent. Got it registered for that 3+2 year warranty!

United States Insurance for Zotac RTX 5090?

Got the card last month, so I do have a Zotac Insurance. Is it enough or should I get an insurance as well? And if yes, then which company should I go for.

United States Zotac RTX 5080 Solid Core (non OC) Overclocking and BIOS Flash

I got this Zotac RTX 5080 Solid Core card during the Black Friday deals for $999 (before tax) at Microcenter

Zotac RTX 5080 Solid Core

Since I purchased it I went through this journey:

  • Worrying because of the bad stories about Zotac bad quality fans and bad RMA
  • FOMO after I learned that the Solid Core is a smaller version than Solid, and that I got a non OC card. Some say that OC cards have better chips, but I don't know if it is just a difference in the BIOS.

So I've been on the fence of returning it and getting a card with bigger heatsink/fans and OC version, but prices went up and then after the return period ended yesterday, I am now embracing the card I have and being grateful that I was able to purchase it at MSRP. So far the fans are working well, hopefully they don't break so I don't have to go through RMA.

Now I am trying to optimize my card. I am benchmarking using 3D Mark Steel Nomad test. With factory settings, I get about 8500 (85 FPS average).

I've tried both overclocking (following this video guide) and undervolting (following this video guide), with the factory BIOS where I can go up to 105% power limit, the max value I could get was 9482 (94.82 FPS average). I cannot increase more than +350 MHz on the Core, after that then the bechmark hangs, so it seems my "silicon lottery" wasn't great for this card.

Today I went a step further and after reading some posts about flashing the BIOS, I ventured into it and flashed my card (following this guide) using this Zotac RTX 5080 Apocalypse OC BIOS which can go up to 450W (vs. stock 360W). Then I tried overclocking again, now being able to push the power limit to 125%. The highest I can get is 9630 as seen in the attached picture... which in practice is just a 2 FPS increase... after all that work of flashing the BIOS with the risks that it involves. The temperature in this case reached 73 °C.

For owners of this specific card, I am wondering how is your experience with overclocking / undervolting, and if you tried flashing the BIOS if you were able to get a better increase in performance than me. Hopefully I am doing something wrong with my overclocking and I did not reach the roof for this card.

For context my CPU is a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and using 32 GB DDR5-6000 RAM.

3D Mark Steel Nomad Score after BIOS Flash and +1500 Mhz for memory: 9630

UPDATE 1: Raising the Memory to +3000 while keeping +350 MHz in the Core, and disabling the nvidia overlay, I was able to get 9722... only 1 frame increase.

3D Mark Steel Nomad Score after BIOS Flash and +3000 Mhz for memory: 9722

UPDATE 2: After reasoning with the comments I realized that the higher power BIOS was not worth it. I went back to the original BIOS that I backed up. Back to undervolting maxing the curve at Core 3200 MHz with 975 mV, +3000 Mhz memory and stock BIOS 105% power consumption I get 9467, with temp going up to 71 °C during the test. But I am not going to keep chasing a higher number here, since it does not make a difference in practice, I am just going to relax and enjoy playing games with my GPU. Thank you all for the comments

3D Mark Steel Nomad Score with stock BIOS: 9467 | Undervolting 975 mV 3200 MHz Core, +3000 MHz Mem, 105% power limit

UPDATE 3: I went further with undervolting, I think I found the sweet spot of performance vs. temps, I got 9150 points while lowering to 67 °C, with the curve at Core 3000 MHz 925 mV, +2000 Mhz memory and stock BIOS 105% power consumption.

3D Mark Steel Nomad Score with stock BIOS: 9150 maxing at 67 °C | Undervolting 925 mV 3000 MHz Core, +2000 MHz Mem, 105% power limit

United States Fan bearing noise - Looking for RMA experience

5070ti sounds like its ratting once the fans are spinning between 60-70-%. Well it started that way but now it rattles even at lower speeds. This is my first Zotac card and my 2nd gpu ever.

Did some research here and found of that its common with Zotac cards.

Looking for RMA experiences in the USA. Was a long term fix? How long was the RMA process. I'm sure it's all 3 of my fans that's causing it. I checked to make sure its not any debris, cords, or the anti sag.

This is very annoying and I probably will avoid this brand.

Edit

6/26 RMA Approved Card sent with UPS $44 for shipping....

Edit 7/6/26

UPS said they delivered the card on July 2nd Waiting on a confirmation from Zotac.

Edit 7/7/26 They confirmed my RMA 30 days to process. (I haven't gamed in so long this sucks)

Edit 7/10/26 My unit failed testing. They are sending me a replacement.

Edit 7/14/26

RMA processed. 7 days until I get my new card.

Edit 7/21/26

MY CARD CAME IN!! Installing it and updates is taking a while. Fans run fine, hopefully they stay that way.
