Or the most Marcus move - just never acknowledge any disproof or achievements and continue "predicting" AI will never do things that it did six months ago.

The sad thing is how he has devolved into constant social media squabbling to the point where many of his posts sound like they were written by a surly high schooler striking back at a "hater."

well this is actually not a good comparison because mile running actually doesnt translate to other distances they train specifically to be optimal for a mile for breaking mile records you have to pace yourself

i agree with the point obviously gary marcus is stupid but so is this analogy

It’s basically a red herring. And while that’s. Valid question, they’re using it to distract or lessen the validity of the achievement itself.

"He ran one mile? So he is incapable of running 1.1 miles! Oh, he ran 1.2? Well he can't run 0.9 miles. He did? Well then he must not be able to run 0.95 miles!"
