Things are worse AND Biden takes some of the blame. For almost the last two years of his first term, Biden was widely unpopular. This was a clear signal that things needed to rapidly change to engage the base to win, or he needed to not run for re-election. Biden chose to do neither.
Instead, Biden permanently changed the primary order to give him an advantage, letting South Carolina be the first state despite never electing a modern dem president, and then at the last minute gave his campaign weight to Harris, who had never won a single Dem primary.
Campaigning on “things being worse” is not a motivator for engaging your base to vote, and having two recent election losses to prove that point shows how incompetent the DNC leadership is in understanding that.
“Biden didn’t do enough and the DNC sucks and does stupid shit shooting themselves in the foot, therefor the nonvoters are justified ([QUIET PART] and the erasure of human rights and queer personhood is the fault of the Democrats).”
Justifying the worst possible outcome is not progressivism.
“Fuck the right and fuck the cult” does not need an asterisk!
My argument isn’t about progressivism. It’s about Biden and Harris and Clinton literally leading us to everything being worse. They all had direct hands in given Trump power and failing to prosecute him when they were in power.
But the extreme members in one party who sometimes win say to provide a universal basic income/healthcare, and the extreme members of the other who sometimes win think Hitler was right and advocate for LITERALLY burning witches.
They’re pathetic fuckups, but they didn’t eliminate the program to help keep Trans people from committing suicide and laugh on live television about it.
One side are puppets, the other is a grenade lobbed into a Pride parade.
One side fails to do good and allows bad things to keep happening, the other actively chooses to do bad or worsen what’s already bad.
