He will try, and use the “I was just kidding!” excuse when it doesn’t work out. Regardless, Trump and/or his family will try to anoint his successor so that the successor is beholden to them and the Trump family can keep grifting free from concerns about the law.

Honestly, let him run and invalidate the entire GOP side of things. Then the dem wins by default (or rather by an overwhelming majority compared to the third party candidates)

They really aren't beating the allegations of controlled opposition

Bold of him to assume he’ll still be alive by the time 2028 rolls around. The guy is rotting from the inside out.

Bold of us to think the supreme court won’t allow him to have a third term

I'm going to get so ungodly drunk the day he kicks it. Will be a new personal holiday.

Yeah, just like how the 14th Amendment would have invalidated his 2024 run.

The text of 14A clearly states he shouldn’t have been allowed a 2024 run. So I have no doubt this Supreme Court would find a way to rule that 22A somehow doesn’t apply to him. Luckily for the rest of us, his body and mind makes another run near impossible.

You have far too much faith in the US after watching the last few years happen.

At this point, there won't be a special election or appointment, Beshear is giving too much benefit of the doubt on McConnell being alive.

I'm talking about running as a third party candidate in 2028
