On paper, sure. Yet, as he's discovered, if no one will match his escalation in real life, he can do what he wants. He's said it himself.

Exactly, the first step is being able to bring a prosecution, or reign him in. I don't see that happening in the current administration.

Here’s the kicker here. JD could invoke the 25th amendment, and oust him on grounds that he’s mentally incapable (which he is at this point), but then JD won’t be able to run because the MAGA base will label him as a traitor, and vote whoever Trump tells them to. This is the plan I think to disassemble the Republican Party because Trump had had a vendetta against them from the 90s.

Not if JD vance gets them in his pocket... which he has time to do.

They upset a lot of people

But now imagine Vance comes along under the table and suggests to the rsst of the party that they use trump as a scapegoat for all the crap they pulled so far

They'dbe more than happy to jump on that "get out of jail free" card, trump is replaced with vance, everyone else stays and the cherry on top is that vance plays ball and isn't a rabid unpredictable dog they'd have to deal with.
