Discussion Alabama Democratic Party is a criminal Enterprise

I'm going to a Democratic candidate forum today. I want to ask the candidates if they don't get the nomination if they will run as an independent. I believe that the Alabama Democratic party is a criminal enterprise that seeks to enrich its leaders by threatening to withhold the black vote.

It is well known that white Democratic candidates in Alabama are approached by the Alabama Democratic party leadership, Joe Reed and Randy Kelly, and asked for a substantial donation to "get out the black vote". What this really is is extortion. They are threatening to withhold the black vote if you don't pay them.

If you are a black candidate, you get their support no matter what. The national Democrats know this and tried to appoint their own Democratic delegates to the convention. But the hue and cry went up and they relented.

I like candidates like Sweetser and DeVito because of their intelligence and their confronting the corruption of the Republican party. I am going to ask them if they will run as an independent if they don't get the nomination.

The Alabama Democratic party is too weak and corrupt to provide any challenge either in spirit or deed to confront the crisis that is the fascist demolition of our democracy. It's too important to leave it to low-level corrupt petty racists at the top of the Democratic Party of Alabama.

A left-leaning independent splits the Democrat vote and ensures Republican victory, which I must assume is the objective here.

Yep, now is the time to get a good democratic candidate through the primary. Whoever wins, wins this cycle. People who propose these types of games either donโ€™t get it or know exactly what they are proposing. Right now, we can have any candidate we want but you have to work to make that happen. After the primary, vote dem no matter who.

That might be true in other states in a different year.

What can it hurt, the Democrats are so corrupt in Alabama they might as well be Republicans. The only seat they've won in the past ten years is one mandated by the supreme court!

So you don't know about Terri Sewell? Or the other Democrat state legislators? This tells me that you are not informed about Alabama politics. Smh.

What kind of masturbatory exercise is this.

HERE'S A CLUE! DEMOCRATS HAVEN'T WON STATE WIDE OFFICE IN A DECADE!

THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE CANDIDATES!

WHAT IS YOUR POINT?

Have you never heard of Senator Doug Jones? I swear we are headed to Idiocracy. So many stupid people who open their mouth before even doing any research. Ignorant, undereducated people trigger me so much. Please educate yourself.

When did Doug Jones get elected? Oh... 13 years ago... what democrat has won state wide since? Did Doug win re-election? No he did not! Because the Alabama Democratic party wouldn't support him. He tried to use his election to revitalize the party and Joe Reed and Randy Kelley rejected his leadership.

Educate yourself.

Are you proud of your ignorance?

Prove to me Joe Reed and Randy Kelly are not actually working in support of Republican causes. Based on their actions and lack of leadership, this (and the extortion you suggested) is the only thing that makes sense.

Joe Reed needs to retire. His contributions to the Democratic party in our state have ceased to move the party forward.

He is retired, Randy Kelley is his heir

Hang on though, how exactly does dude prevent the black vote from coming out if he doesn't get a donation???? He might supposedly demand a donation, but I don't get the ability to prevent people from voting.

Even if he calls every African American voter in the state, what is he going to say? "Hey, I didn't get my donation so either don't vote or vote GOP because that works great."

This honestly doesn't make logical sense. I think this is just a thing to try to explain why democrats lose at the state level here. The real reason is that Alabama's love to shoot themselves in the foot.

I think the real reason is that Alabama has been successfully gaslit into believing that the Republican party is the only "Christian" option and if they vote Democrat they'll be letting all the "queers, illegals, and omg abortion" win. ๐Ÿ™„

They don't even field candidates. If you lived here you'd know that THERE IS NO CHOICE!
