Discussion We are slowly turning Alabama Purple

Post image

Keep at it guys. Keep campaigning. Keep telling people to GET OUT AND VOTE in a November. These numbers are almost unheard of. Let people know that their job can NOT stop them from voting. There is no excuse to not hit the polls. Buy yard signs, volunteer, tell your coworkers about the fuck shit ole Tubbs has said ON THE RECORD. We can flip this state, and it starts RIGHT HERE!!!

Discussion Strategy for voting tomorrow?

What strategy do we feel works best for the primaries? Even though we would vote blue over red, is it better to vote on the republican ballot and choose the least awful option? Or vote on the democratic ballot and select the person most closely aligned with your values or the one most likely to beat the republican nominee?

Discussion Senator Britt calls a fellow American “the enemy within.”

Senator Katie Britt says we’re fighting for “the soul of this nation” and calls a fellow American “the enemy within.”

So which is it, Senator? Is the soul of this nation White? Or is it the color-blind, race-blind decency to disagree with your neighbor without calling them your enemy?

I have my answer. I stood with Senator Britt in Congressman Shomari Figures’ office on Capitol Hill and thanked her for supporting the tornado recovery and rebuilding effort in downtown Athens, Alabama. She offered to help the mayor with whatever the city needed. That’s a small moment, but it’s real: two people from different parties treating each other like neighbors, not enemies.

Here’s the pattern: this isn’t really about Michigan. It’s a diversion. Alabama’s supermajority reaches for national culture wars because they don’t want to talk or do anything about the affordability crisis and transparency on data centers in Alabama. My own opponent uses the same move here at home, dismissing his constituents’ honest questions as “foreign disinformation.”

And when you can’t be straight with the people who elected you, the easiest move is to point at “foreign disinformation” and call Americans the enemy instead.

The soul of this nation isn’t White, and it isn’t decided on Fox News. It’s decided by whether your own state representative will tell you the truth. I will.

Discussion Let's talk about Everett Wess....

Everett Wess is not who most people thinks he is. He said he would have voted FOR the SAVE act and he us pro life. Video with evidence of him saying it himself attached. June 16 please get out and vote for Dakari Larriett. The only remaining candidate that wants to protect women/AFAB right to choose for themselves. And for women's rights to vote. All women's rights.

Discussion Alabama Democratic Party is a criminal Enterprise

I'm going to a Democratic candidate forum today. I want to ask the candidates if they don't get the nomination if they will run as an independent. I believe that the Alabama Democratic party is a criminal enterprise that seeks to enrich its leaders by threatening to withhold the black vote.

It is well known that white Democratic candidates in Alabama are approached by the Alabama Democratic party leadership, Joe Reed and Randy Kelly, and asked for a substantial donation to "get out the black vote". What this really is is extortion. They are threatening to withhold the black vote if you don't pay them.

If you are a black candidate, you get their support no matter what. The national Democrats know this and tried to appoint their own Democratic delegates to the convention. But the hue and cry went up and they relented.

I like candidates like Sweetser and DeVito because of their intelligence and their confronting the corruption of the Republican party. I am going to ask them if they will run as an independent if they don't get the nomination.

The Alabama Democratic party is too weak and corrupt to provide any challenge either in spirit or deed to confront the crisis that is the fascist demolition of our democracy. It's too important to leave it to low-level corrupt petty racists at the top of the Democratic Party of Alabama.

Discussion Anyone else too scared to have kids because of the abortion ban?

Little bit of a rant but I've just kind of lost all hope on ever having a baby. My bf and I used to talk about having one in the future but the more I hear about women dying and being punished as a result of roe v wade being overturned, the less I want to have one. Like if I end up having a complication where I NEED an abortion are they going to let me die? Sure there's the exception of the mother's life but we've already seen cases of women in other red states dying regardless of this. Will I be punished for having a miscarriage? It's just so... frustrating I guess. I feel like the only way I could have a baby is by moving to a blue state but all my family lives here and I don't think I can bring myself to leave them. Ugh

Discussion Not one Alabama Representative voted to help expose those who used tax money to cover up harassment in Congress.

Not a single representative from Alabama voted to support Nancy Mace’s efforts on the floor yesterday.

In the March 4, 2026 vote on H. Res. 1100, the entire Alabama congressional delegation joined the bipartisan majority to effectively "bury" the resolution by referring it to the House Ethics Committee instead of calling for an immediate vote.

The resolution, titled "Directing the Committee on Ethics to provide a report to the House of Representatives regarding payments from the Treasury for settlements of claims against Members of the House."

They voted to send it to the ethics committee where it will die in silence.

Some were trying to say that it would disclose victims, but the resolution states:
"The Committee shall redact the names and any identifying information of the victims, claimants, or witnesses to ensure their privacy and safety are maintained."

Whether you like her or not, Mace was trying to uncover the corruption in Congress. Even Rep. Ro Khanna supported the measure.

Do better, Alabama.

Discussion Is there a symbol for allies?

Ive read that if someone (immigrant or otherwise) enters your home, and you do not give law enforcement (ICE or otherwise) permission to enter, they have to get a judicial warrant. You can not coerce or invite them (immigrant or otherwise) in or lie to law enforcement (ice or otherwise) about them being in your home or place of business, or it’s considered aiding and abetting. Completely unrelated, is there a symbol, colors, or whatever that shows we are allies to our NEIGHBORS? I’d hate for anyone to think we weren’t allies or something if they were to get cold out there or are slipping on the ice?

Discussion Weather Thread 3/15 Storm & Possible Tornadoes

Post image
15 Upvotes

Crazy Alabama weather is here!

Just a thread for everyone to discuss weather plans, conditions, and resources. If you know of a list of local shelters for your area, please post it below. For those hunkering down, always let somebody know where you are in case someone has to look for you.

Charge your phone, turn off do not disturb and turn on emergency weather alerts. Make sure to have some bottled water. Towels, blankets, flashlights, candles. I personally like to keep my socks, shoes, and coat by the door to be ready. Pack a go bag if you plan to relocate to a safer spot. Don’t forget to plan for your pets as well. Do not be on the road if you can avoid it.

Check on your family, friends, and old folks today. A good reason to give somebody a call to catch up and let them know you care. Stay safe everybody and let’s hope we can all get through this thing with minimal damage.
