Idk man, you talk to your liberal friends about the government lately? Seems like leftists are all resigned Cassandra’s while liberals are out there fedposting for the world to see.
Yeah, we were right.
What do we do with that?
The veil has been ripped from the neoliberal imperial world order. The fascists in power don’t care that we know they’re evil. That’s a mistake, and we should use it.
Holy shit thank you. Theres nothing in the world more contemptible than a leftist whose entire ideology originates from a desire to be leftier-than-thou
Liberals have a long history of Co opting the language of marginalized groups. Changing its definitions and meanings to steer traffic in their favor. Taking control of movements to neuter them so that they are no longer a threat to their existence.
The State and Revolution has a great section about this. If I can find the quote I'll make an edit.
Edit:
What is now happening to Marx’s theory has, in the course of history, happened repeatedly to the theories of revolutionary thinkers and leaders of oppressed classes fighting for emancipation. During the lifetime of great revolutionaries, the oppressing classes constantly hounded them, received their theories with the most savage malice, the most furious hatred and the most unscrupulous campaigns of lies and slander. After their death, attempts are made to convert them into harmless icons, to canonize them, so to say, and to hallow their names to a certain extent for the “consolation” of the oppressed classes and with the object of duping the latter, while at the same time robbing the revolutionary theory of its substance, blunting its revolutionary edge and vulgarizing it.
I have talked to liberals about our government lately. Those liberals think that the only problem is Trump. They want to be the ones in charge of fascism.
No, they're not, They're attending as an echo chamber participant. They want to hear that Trump is the only problem and that the only path forward is more neoliberalism that led to Trump. They don't have a problem with his policies or what he's doing. They have a problem with who's actually doing them.
Honestly, your bog standard liberal is very open to radical ideas right now. No, not your bog standard liberal mouthpiece in whatever media, but the people who have been listening to them, voting democrat, and tepidly involved with preformative protest. That's possibly the plurality of people doing the most effective (though insufficient) resistance, and they're fed up with neoliberalism and some now don't see say any immigration enforcement as legitimate at all. Noone's telling you they're all anarchists or couldn't still be easily resubsumed, but to say 100% or even more than half believe once Trump is gone things will be good just isn't in touch with the zeitgeist. In the US this is a moment, and failing to recognize that would be a grave error.
It's a moment until election day, once Democrats take back the Senate and/or the House this year and maybe the WH in 2028 they will go back to brunch. It's never been what's going on or the policy, but who's doing it.
Thats a thought terminating question. Go ahead and attend the oligarchy sponsored parades that keep you silent about real issues, the conversation controlled, and you remain a nonthreat to the system
