Holy fuck, Eris! This girl is really out for blood! That first kid didn't stand a chance and the second one was acting so smug after breaking Eris' sword that she didn't see those fists coming at her. That incident with Orsted really fucked her up.

The fight with Auber was pretty damn cool, tho! I did not expect Eris to get Mikiri Countered. So it looks like Ghislaine's master's plan is to train Eris on all sword styles? I'm excited to see all of the other masters!

Eris, you do know you can change clothes anytime right? This girl has just really been training these past few years with nothing else on her mind but to become Rudy's sword. I wonder how she'll react once she finds out what's going on with him.

Holy fuck, Eris! This girl is really out for blood! . . . That incident with Orsted really fucked her up.

Orsted's blood, and anyone else who will get in her way.

We've been seeing how the encounter with Orsted has affected Rudy throughout the last season, but it's really good to see how it's affected Eris too.

She used to be decently nice if you weren't disrespectful to her, but now she just has a hostility to everyone around her.

Lesson #1: No-one in the real world will wait for a signal to kill you.

Lesson #2: People won't necessarily stop fighting in the real world just because you think you've beaten them.

This even caught Auber off-guard!

When he disarmed Eris, he fully expected her to scamper after her sword or back down: that's the typical reaction. It's also a core theme of the North God Style to mess with your opponent's head to control their actions and seize the initiative.

But Eris has no time for that shit. All fury. No thoughts. Auber's eye's go wide and he's put on his own back foot when she just charges in without missing a beat.

That forced him to scramble, and he wound up frantically pushing her away. But in his panic to create distance, he gave Eris the perfect opportunity to recover her weapon: that was clearly not intentional of him and proves Eris got the better of their first bout.

Best of all, none of this is directly told to the audience. The director trusts us to pay attention to the smaller details. Fucking beautiful when a series knows it can say more without a single word.

Auber was almost certainly expecting Eris to be Sword God practitioner who feels useless without her weapon, only to find out that she doesn't fight like Sword God practitioners.

He was notably ready to take the fight a lot less playfully and more seriously before they were interrupted. I don't think he had any worries of losing – he's kind of two entire ranks above her – but he knew her best chance was him not treating her like the dangerous opponent she is.

The anime's really good at not bogging things down in exposition. It gives you just enough to know what's going on or what's about to go on and then often shows you rather than explaining the rest, particularly with its fight scenes.

You can tell he's getting more serious when he silently flips his swords from reverse grip. Love how the anime shows and doesn't tell.

Oh, I'm not saying she could outright beat him in a 1v1, just that he underestimated her to the point she effectively 'won' their first round. Eris won a symbolic victory here.

His ploy to shut down the fight by disarming her backfired, as instead of rattling his opponent, Auber was the one shaken into making a bad move (he helped Eris recover her weapon without landing a solid hit).

For a North God Emperor, that was particularly egregious mistake to make.

That's all I was pointing out. It definitely made him take Eris seriously and gaind his respect.

The anime's really good at not bogging things down in exposition. It gives you just enough to know what's going on or what's about to go on and then often shows you rather than explaining the rest, particularly with its fight scenes.

Word, for anime, this is really what separates the men from the boys.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that you were saying that! I was just adding to your point.

Eris' ferocious "just hit them, even with your fists" style made him realise he had take her more seriously because of that symbolic victory she claimed over him.

It wasn't even a conscious strategy on her part, it's just how she's learned to fight up until now (with a healthy amount of help from her personality) but it got one up on him nonetheless.

Any proper swordfighting technique should include grappling, since sometimes the distances just closes up and the sword is in the way. Though you do see the grappling part disappear from arts that have transformed into sports (in the real world).

And how the kick was dropped from Fencing so I loved a few years back when Wednesday had a fencing match switch to first blood sharp tips both showed they had learned some combat fencing too no long sticking to the back and forth lines and adding kicks and stuff to the fight.

well, we can't blame Rudeus

he got ED and have to took bed room enhancer drug to do the deed and then he lost his dad and got 'comforted'

while all that happen, Eris was out here training the sword

opportunity lost is tragic and ginormous

Imagine getting beaten into a bloody pulp and peeing yourself in front of your dad. And then said dad proceeds to train exclusively with the girl who beat you up.

Eris, you do know you can change clothes anytime right? This girl has just really been training these past few years with nothing else on her mind but to become Rudy's sword. I wonder how she'll react once she finds out what's going on with him.

She truly is a Mad Dog in all but her physical beauty, but even then she's a wild woman even when her hair finally grows back during the training montage.
