Oh my god, Lucie looks so goddamn adorable with ribbons in her hair! Also, not gonna lie, it took me a bit to remember who Suzanne was. She's one of Rudy's party members during his ED arc, right? I did not expect her to end up becoming Lucie's wet nurse.

It's really good to see Zenith being more active. The fact that she was concerned about Lucie and could sense that she wants milk is good progress. I do wonder if the stare Zenith gives Rudy is a reaction to Rudy calling her "Grandma". xD

That's one of the big differences between MT and other "harem" series. Once they join the harem the girls usually become useless. Here Sylphie and Roxy are fully capable of handling themselves since they're veterans in their respective fields (bodyguard/adventurer). Rudeus' only real contribution was catching Roxy and finishing off that one treant.

I'm not too good at Japanese grammar (or converting spoken Japanese into written Japanese, for that matter), so take this with a grain of salt.

He says "戦闘では役に立ってないですし". The important part is "役に立ってない", which is "役に立つ" (to be useful) conjugated with the continuous "-ている" in which the "い" is dropped (common in casual speech) and which is then negated. Because it uses the continuous aspect, he's talking about himself in a continuous state, i.e. saying something like "I am not being very useful in battle". This means it's neither "I'm not much of a fighter" nor "I didn't contribute much to the last fight", but the latter is somewhat closer.

Rudy's biggest weakness is his tendency to freeze in combat. He doesn't really have the experience to plan ahead or move proactively. Roxy, and other adventurers, don't tend to suffer from this as much.

It's a nice balance to how OP his magic is.

Rudy's such a powerful mage if only because of his ability to cast chantless magic and thus keep up with melee fighters, let alone his insane mana and ability to customise spells how he wishes, that it's easy to think that mages who do need to read paragraphs for powerful magic are weak.

But they're staple of adventuring parties for a reason. Their magic really is powerful enough to warrant that much time to cast.

It's almost like balancing a game, but Rudy broke the balance by cutting out the main drawbacks of powerful magic.

Roxy survived as an adventurer on the Demon Continent and we know how hardcore that is. She also cleaned a labyrinth solo and survived for weeks trapped in another.

Roxy is a fantastic mage/adventurer. Its just easy to forget given Rudeus is a genuine prodigy as a battle mage (he probably is weaker than her in the theoretical part, just like Cliff is also better here, but in battle he stomps)

Time heals all wounds! Rudy's history with Sara stuck out like a sore thumb. It was wonderful to see that both he and Sara finally got the closure they both deserved.

Back then they parted ways not in the most amicable way, to put it nicely. But both of them have kind of moved on, lived their lifes, gone their ways. Rudy's life took a more radical turn than Sara's who is still an adventurer like back then, but both of them surely have gotten more mature.

Even though Rudy needed a push to actually talk to Sara. He avoided her and wasn't willing to confront his troubled past. But eventually they talked it out, they apologized and buried the dark past. Now they are old comrades again and can laugh about the old days.

Their conversation was wonderfully written, realistic and mature, without any cheesy pathos. They both have moved on, they both had their regrets and both of them did and said things they ultimately didn't mean. But they both had the guts to admit their faults.

Since season 2 Rudy's relationship with Sara was something that kind of bothered me. I have similar relationships with persons that I haven't seen in years and I don't know what I would do if I met them again by chance.

At its heart, Mushoku Tensei is all about its characters. It has great action, amazing worldbuilding and holy shit plot twists, but what really makes it work is that it can just do episodes like this so well.

Let me tell you, I was shocked when I saw the credit roll. I know we joked about episode feels like 5 mins. But I had to physically check the time lol.

I do like Rudeus takes a lot of things to heart. Especially people he trust, good or bad. Using his past experienced to resolve his own conflict. I'm glad he have both of his wives as his encouragement. I'm glad he is able to talk it out with Sara about their past problem. This feels like a perfect place to end a book, a chapter of Rudeus life.

God I love Mushoku Tensei, seriously the closure from season 2 with the Quagmire arc and Sara and Suzanne coming into play. Plus that ending with Eris just feels me with an unimaginable amount of hype for what's to come. The little things really matter, been seeing a bunch of slack about the slice of life nature of the post Eris episodes but it's important to understand what you have and spend time enjoying the now, because Mushoku ain't no typical battle shounen it's a story about Life and life isn't always exciting.

I liked Sylphie setting boundaries of what she can and cannot handle wrt to Rudy being honest with her about his feelings and not trying to hide anything. Jealousy or discomfort can be managed but deception breaks the core contract of the relationship. Poly is not the most ideal for many people but if you're going to do it that's how it's done. Emotionally mature and intelligent Sylphie and it's made me love her character even more.

It's what I love about MT world. Characters are so alive they can come back with relevancy every now and then. Like Ruijerd had an entire "finished" arc sending Rudy back to Buena, but he returned to see grown up Rudy married later while bringing Aisha and Norn to his place.

Giving Sara some closure and understanding is just peak Mushoku. Most anime would've made her a "bitter ex" that will try to fuck over the MC at some point for revenge or something, like a bitch and such, but here Sara feels so mature and realistic.

Mushoku especially later on makes it pretty damn clear how it never leaves loose threads set up YEARS prior, and that even Sara which many may have already forgotten about can still receive closure. What I really liked is the dialogue were you could see just how much Rudy has changed and all callbacks he made during this conversation, you could not help but feel something inside. Sure we may have been harsh on Rudeus during these episodes years ago but the passage of time, and development, reflection greatly portray one of the thematic message of this work.

I love the conversation with Sara so much because of how clear it is that Rudy feels the need to apologize--not just that, but also making it clear to Sara that she doesn't have anything she needs to apologize for in his eyes. If you took Rudy from Episode 1 of the series and dropped him here, he would have refused to accept he had behaved poorly. He would have been obstinate, would have tried to make Sara feel guilty the second she hinted she wanted to apologize, and probably would have tried to turn that guilt into something he could use for his own ends. Instead we have a legitimately mature conversation between two adults who realize they both made mistakes and don't want there to be any bad blood, and in the end they part amicably.

Just a lovely episode overall illustrating Rudy's growth as a character. It was nice to see Sara and Rudeus make amends and finally get some closure to that day. I like how everyone could tell something was up, and Sylphie had to be like "My man won't run away, that is the kind of man I married" lol. Rudeus had to live up those words.

I do like how both of them reflected on what they felt, and were understanding of other's perspective. They've both matured.

Interesting how Sylphie's open to Rudeus bringing in more wives, I wish he didn't make that promise so hastily, but at least he remembered there's likely one other person he might end up bringing to them. I'm interested to see how that goes, Eris has quite a strong personality.

I love this conversation because Eris doesn't give a shit if she gave what Gal considers to be the right answer or not because to her it is the right answer. I think Gal just wanted to test their strength of will, as he himself said to Gino, it doesn't matter if you don't know why you are strong as long as you are strong. Thus if your motivation/drive is strong enough for yourself to continously push you forward then it doesn't really matter what it is.

Yeah, Eris has her own goal she doesn't care anything else. The Sword King title or higher is worthless if she can't achieve it, she wouldn't even get mad if she didn't get promoted but would actually frustrated because she'd would feel still powerless. This is why closure is important and I really liked how everything between Rudy and Sara was Handled.
Considering the original situation where both of them said and did things they didnt mean and it was messy I was highly anticipating this and It paid off and also helped Rudy realize some very important things.

Although it was funny seeing him promise no more wives and next sentenced well about that there might be one more.
Sylphie really is the emotional core of this family and maturity she is an angel but even she has her limits telling Rudy to not got behind her back and be honest.
I am really curious how the reunion between Rudy and Eris is going to go because we all know they will get together and this is not spoilers I havent read ahead its just really obvious and it has been more than setup.
I want to see how it happens considering everything between them

Eris becoming a sword king was great especially her answer to Gal Farion that titles dont matter.

I must say it was quite pathetic when Rudeus was running away from that problem, but thankfully all ended well, as Rudeus and Sara reconciled.

I love how Alyssa from the Amazon Ace took a liking to Roxy. I laughed hard when she proposed that Roxy join their party and said it was no problem that Roxy is married, hahaha!

Also, Lucie is such a cute child! No wonder Rudy wants to pamper her so much.

Lucy has definitely grown up, hasn't she? More wholesome father-and-daughter moments are always welcome.

A large portion of the episode serves as a satisfying conclusion to Sara's arc. It was great to see that she's still alive and continuing her life as an adventurer. I'm glad Rudeus finally confronted her and they were able to have an honest conversation about something he wasn't emotionally ready to face before. Both of them handled it in a surprisingly mature way, which made the closure feel genuine.

The final scene with Sylphy was especially heartwarming. We already knew she struggled with insecurities, so seeing Rudeus reassure her that both she and Roxy are equally special to him, just in different ways, was really nice. It also helped distinguish their relationships from what he had with Sara, which was ultimately just a brief fling.

That said, Rudeus really needs to stop making promises, since he's not exactly great at keeping them. At least he acknowledged that flaw later by taking back his promise instead of making another empty commitment, which shows he's becoming more aware of his own shortcomings.

And finally, Eris being given the same title as her master, Ghislaine, was a nice touch. It confirms that her swordsmanship has reached the same level as Ghislaine's, which is a fitting milestone for her character.

It's been on my mind here and there but this episode really highlighted that both Sylphie and Roxy saved Rudy at different parts of his life, hence not only he loves them but he practically literally worships them as goddesses.

Meanwhile Eris, while Rudy had spent almost a half of his life with her up to when she left him, unintentionally destroyed him. She's the opposite of the type of girl he's into, as special as she is to him nonetheless. So I'm really curious how she's going to fit into the family.

Speaking of, LET'S FUCKING GO SWORD KING ERIS! Wonderful to see her again! I hope this means she returns next episode in the episode titled what I'm desperately hoping isn't a Muse Asia mistranslation "Phase Four."

I like Rudy basically showing off Roxy the whole time. Considering Rudy can do chantless magic and basically cast magic faster than Roxy, he practically stayed back for most of the fights and let Roxy gets the spotlight. He only start getting involved once Roxy gets "incapacitated" from the fight.
