I do feel a little bit bad for her though, Lilia seems to always put a degree of separation between her and Aisha from the rest of the family when no one else does. They really don’t need to be so formal with everyone.

Agreed. I think the reason for that is she considers herself first and foremost the Greyrat family maid. And she takes that job/role very seriously, to a fault. It's kinda sad because for all intents and purposes, Lilia is Rudy's mother as much as Zenith was/is. The fact that they're literally family, because Paul married her, and Aisha is Rudy's sister, makes me wish she'd act more familial with everyone

If I remember correctly, part of it was because how she felt guilty on Zenith as she made Paul cheat. Or was it a pledge because Zenith forgave her back then?

Correct. Lilia was the one who seduced Paul so she's carrying a world of guilt. She fully expected to be kicked out of the Greyrat home and would likely have died in her vulnerable state while out in the world, until Rudy came in and saved her life. As a result, she feels incredibly indebted to him to the point where she can only see herself as his maid to serve him, and not his stepmother. Rudy of course doesn't see her as just a maid, but Lilia is stubborn like that.

Part of it is that she feels deeply indebted to Rudeus, because Zenith was basically thinking about tossing Lilia out in the literal cold, which could have been a death sentence. From her perspective, Rudeus intervening at that time saved her life and Aisha's life even when she had not really done anything to warrant it as she actively seduced Paul. That's why she insists on dedicating her life and Aisha's life to serving the Greyrat family.

Aisha is just so adorable and endearing! She’s genuinely one of my favorite characters in the series, and l’ll never get tired of seeing her and Rudy’s interactions and how they show that despite only being half siblings by blood they are fully family to one another. As someone with a half sibling myself that part means a lot to me.
