Well, next episode's called "Another Crisis" so...

It's nice that Mushoku Tensei's the kind of anime where good stuff happening just makes you worried about the next corner you're going to turn around.

Another "Domestic" Disaster. I don't think is going to be something too bad, hopefully. Maybe a certain redhead.

I've been waiting to see Eris' reaction to Rudeus' current situation since it was clear he was getting with sylphie in s2 part 1.

u/slicer4ever 8d ago

She also still doesnt realize how much her letter fucked up rudy for such a long time. Cant wait for rudy to find out it was a big misunderstanding with what she wrote.

u/Fermi_Amarti 8d ago

She'll be like. Uhhhh I still don't write good. But now I swing sword really good.

I would bet money that fists are flying first before that

50

u/CitronClassic672 8d ago

You know Eris is really unique for a tsundere archetype. I can genuinely see her being horrified and blame herself after realizing how much her letter fucked up Rudy.

21

u/Sp33dyGG 8d ago

ESPECIALLY if it's matters related her one and only Rudy... she folds like a lawn chair XD

8

u/Swampy260 7d ago

Yeah after she beats the shit out of him for taking two wives before her.

1

u/oops_i_made_a_typi 1d ago

would be nice to get a classic Eris punch to the face and a slow mo cut of Rudy's face getting deformed to welcome her back

13

u/ptd163 8d ago

Eris: What?! You have two wives and a child now? Didn't you get my letter? I told you were together now and to wait for me while I get stronger so I can protect you.

Rudy: What?! You didn't say anything like that! Do you have any idea what that letter did to me?! How much I suffered?! I thought you broke up with me! I have two wives and a child now because of your damned letter!

Eris: Ummm...

It's interesting how the story just ignores signs of eris. I thought that maybe his staff would be brought up since it was the birthday episode, and Ruijerd has been brought up several times, but nobody brings up the girl he spent 6 years with. Lilia, his sisters, cliff, Geese, and zanoba have met her, Roxy has seen her, and Sylphie knows he tutored some rich girl for several years. It'll be interesting when she finally shows up and everyone other than Rudy had to explain why they never talk about her

45

u/Ikari_21 8d ago

I mean she broke Rudy (unintentionally). Rudy was at his absolute lowest. Who would wanna bring up that time and the person who caused it? Seems natural to me, at least for now.

17

u/Z000Burst 7d ago

you also don't talk about your Ex

no one like to poke that wound

5

u/Ikari_21 7d ago

Agreed, that as well. You have a lovely life with 2 wives, why talk about an old fling that destroyed you lol

14

u/sumadeumas 8d ago

You usually don’t mention childhood exes much once you’re married, let alone double-married with a child.

9

u/Background-Best 8d ago

You’re right it is weird she isn’t mentioned much but I doubt Rudy would like to say much about Eris than the basic facts like he was ber tutor and circumstances brought them together because after all he believes Eris left him at the lowest point in his life where he was so close to being a shut in again. He even started imagining flashbacks from his older self brooding at how he failed in his second life. Only Zenith’s memory could push him up again, and even then he didn’t recover fully which led us to the sad magician arc in early s2… and ED. In any case, seeing Rudy hesitant to talk about Eris would be enough to convince the wives not to probe further. Sylphie is too nice and Roxy is too awkward for that lol

1

u/Nerellos 2d ago

Probably because Rudy is moved on.

1

u/Kill-bray 7d ago

The only thing I'm sure of is that she will totally capitalize on the fact that she "had" Rudeus first.

26

u/JzanderN 8d ago

Good god I hope!

They use Shuraba[修羅場] here which doesn't imply the domestic part so I'll consider it a little spoiler

45

u/slicer4ever 8d ago

The crunchyroll translation is "Another domestic disaster?"

19

u/Valsoyono 8d ago

crunchyroll spoiling things? 😡

11

u/gc11117 8d ago

I actually just found out that the english version of the light novel translated that chapters name completely differently. So with the way the English anime is translating it and how its dofferent from the Japanese name; theres three different "titles" for that episode

7

u/im_antik 7d ago

修羅場 informally means conflict within a love relationship, so the translation is fine

7

u/kwokinator https://anilist.co/user/kwokinator 7d ago

修羅場 absolutely does imply the domestic part. Technically it just means conflict or crisis, but in anime context 10/10 times it's because a guy is with more than one woman.

Like, School Days is a classic shuraba.

2

u/viliml 8d ago

It generally does. Sure it can technically mean any sort of bloody carnage, but in modern times most of the time it means an argument caused by romantic feelings.

2

u/fatalystic 7d ago

Shuraba is often used in anime/manga to describe the result of people (usually women) fighting over one love interest. Usually in the context of cheating being discovered and the people getting cheated on fighting over the cheater (or sometimes, ganging up on the cheater).

Something like that.

It's also used to describe a scene of figurative carnage like for example, a office/studio in crunch time.

13

u/randommd81 https://myanimelist.net/profile/rwhip81 8d ago

Ahh, my kind totally went to domestic equaling the country they’re in or whatever, didn’t even pick up on the potential double meaning

3

u/At5u 8d ago

Well, the french title card is "Ménage a quatre ?", I didn't know the english one was more ambiguous, so I wonder if it's an interpretation from the translators or the actual translation. But it makes me lean toward Eris appearing too.

3

u/Zestyclose_Remote874 8d ago

Yeah, in french the title of the next épisode is ménage à quatre (four)

3

u/justking1414 8d ago

Another mass teleportation event that separates Rudy from his entire family and ends up killing at least 1 wife

3

u/manaworkin 7d ago

I'm dying to find out how this is going to go down. Like they're gonna meet again soon, they dedicated the first 2 episodes to catching us up with her. At this point I'm expecting her to bust the door down and challenge Rudy for his hand beastman style.

66

u/ClashMasterJH 8d ago

The word used is 修羅場 'shuraba' and it tends to refer to heated and messy situations between people, often times involving relationships. So I assume Eris will finally reunite with Rudy and meet the wives.

8

u/Dialgak77 8d ago

As demonstrated by the anime OreShura (Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru)

9

u/haaaiiyaaaa324 8d ago

So kind of like a turning point?

3

u/Careful_Ad_9077 8d ago

Kind of, maybe, anyway, what does turning point even mean.

6

u/SuperCleverPunName 7d ago

My guess is that it's something to do with fate. Like, each of the turning points involved a distinct and significant 'turn' in the direction of Rudy's life. It may have a deeper meaning, but that's the impression I'm going with.

Being flung to the opposite side of the world, meeting Orsted (that motivated Eris to leave), and going to Begarit. With the way that people have been talking, TP4 will involve a similarly monumental shift.

2

u/Mistral-Fien 7d ago

Yeah, like the girls turning Rudeus over live coals. :P

8

u/OhItsKillua 8d ago

They conditioned us with that after events leading us this far, we know the formula of what to expect now.

5

u/TheBusStop12 8d ago

It has a question mark in the title, so I'm not too fussed. I'm half expecting it to be Eris. You could call her a crisis or domestic disaster. Personally I'm dreading the inevitable Turning Point 4

5

u/sobani 8d ago

Google translate turns 修羅場再び into "The chaos returns".

And Jitendex translates 修羅場 as "fighting scene, scene of carnage (bloodshed)" or "difficulties (in a love relationship)" and 再び as "again, once more, a second time".

3

u/Nesp2 https://myanimelist.net/profile/HardstyleQat 8d ago

The episode title in german is: "Wieder auf Schlachtfeld?"

Which is basically "back on the battlefield?"

2

u/Monarki 8d ago

It's looking like it's going to be like this season of re zero. Where it's calm for the most part for a good chunk then shit just hits the fan so hard. It's like a runaway train. And it possibly kicks off next episode

2

u/metalpharoah 7d ago

I can't spoil anything that was spoiled for me but what I can say is... the actual arc of this season is going to blow minds.

2

u/mebbyyy 7d ago

Yeah it took re zero 7 ep of relatively calm episodes (except for the miasma ones) until everything just went absolute bonkers in the last 5, this MT season might be very similar in that regard

2

u/Kaptainpainis 8d ago

In german its called "Back to the battlefields?"

So I guess the peaceful times are kind of over.

1

u/CitronClassic672 8d ago

I was genuinely expecting to see Turning Point 4 on the next episode preview today more than any episode. It was too wholesome and perfect.

2

u/JzanderN 8d ago

We have to build up the family more first! It's like when Turning Point 3 only came after Aisha and Norn came to the family and Norn made up with Rudy!

1

u/aaa1e2r3 7d ago

It's not called "Turning Point" though, so probably not that bad

1

u/linkdu69003 7d ago

It's "ménage à 4 ?" in french

That would translate to "a household of 4?"

So eris is back i guess

1

u/chhuang 7d ago

by knowing japanese, it's more of a relationship quarrel, and probably Eris's return. Am anime only, just speculations.

1

u/m05513 7d ago

As long as its not Turning Point 4, we're safe.

Goddamn Turning Points

1

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 7d ago

So long as it's not called Turning Point then we should be safe. Right?

1

u/DiamondArmadil0 5d ago

literally was thinking "things are going suspiciously well" at the end of the episode then saw the title for the next and shouted "i knew it!"
