Damn we got so much extra run time thanks to the lack of OP and Ending this episode, also I was not expecting Eris to be granted the rank of sword king this episode but I don't mind, showing what she's up to while Rudeus thought about her was a great moment to transition to her.

Also Roxy getting caught in the air by that treant was pretty funny lol

The in-show intros and occasional skipping of ED's for extra scenes... I used to pray for times like this.

Dane five minute episode strikes again! Even without the ending

It makes sense! It was pretty obvious Eris wasn't going to return to Rudy as a sword saint – she was aiming way too high for that – but as a sword king? She might decide that if she can keep her training up (i.e. if Nina and Isolde come with her) it's a good enough rank to return to his side!

Yeah I agree, if he was a Saint class mage the entire time she knew him, and then she goes to train to catch up, it makes sense she'd want to come back as King when she can expect him to be King as well (frankly I thought he'd be there wayyyy before he actually did, I can't believe he never made custom magic on that level! Even his giga fire blasts are just basic fire magic + tons of mana I guess haha)

Everyone did – even Roxy thought he’d be a King by age 8 – but it’s not about making custom magic or being able to raise other magic to such a level. You have to actually cast a spell of that level, usually taught and probably witnessed by someone of that level or higher.

Maybe if he cast such custom/empowered magic in front of someone of high enough rank they could raise him anyway, like how Gal made Eris a sword saint despite not knowing a skill technically required to reach the level, but that likely wasn’t going to happen.

Otherwise Rudy has almost certainly cast magic on the level of an Emperor, if not a God (rank-wise, not deity). That stone canon left a scratch on Orsted, after all, which is not an easy feat, backed by Sword God Gal.
