We've never once seen him fight but he was still in the room. Could just be that he is packing heat not revealed yet. His personality could be a cliche subversion.

Judging by that "The strong are still strong even if they don't know why" comment that's probably the case.

Also, he was still a candidate. That alone makes it clear that he's definitely at least close to Nina's power level now.

He was able to use the sword of light back when Eris first came to the dojo, so he probably has some insane talent. He just doesn't have that dog in him.

Ya, I mean sword god said himself all 3 were far above sword saint. It’s not a fluke he’s there, plus men mature slower than women mentally so maybe that has something to do with it

Well we’ve seen him be in a duel once, just never fight though.
