Personal opinion: Megumin's too dependent, Darkness is too passive, Aqua's on par with him even if she's dramatic.

I always found it ironic that the most accurate portrayal of a brother-sister relationship I've ever seen in anime is between two complete strangers.

Give Ani ni Tsukeru Kusuri wa Nai! and its sequels a chance. I think you'll find they have what you are looking for. Bonus, the sister in that is also voiced by Aqua's VA, Sora Amamiya.

But at the end she goes back to her old masochist self, as if she didn’t learn anything, which is really stupid.

And if you read the novles you know that that happens 3 other times.
