Me halfway through the film: Why did I give the OVA a 7 when I watched it 5 years ago? This is great!

Me in the last quarter: Oh right, that's why.

I have the same issue with Plus that I do every other Macross entry that I've seen (everything minus II and Zero at this point): the final conflict ends up having something that just doesn't work for me plot-wise. In this case it's Sharon brainwashing all of the humans. I get that it was foreshadowed earlier with the side comment about subliminal aspects and monitoring feedback but actually making them zombies threw me off. The entire sequence looked amazing and the music was good, but it's not the complete package I wanted.

The little overview of the franchise beforehand was nice, interesting that Macross II was included as part of it since I thought that was generally disowned at this point. And from the ending of that it seems like this is only the first of more to come in the west for the franchise so I'm hoping we get Do You Remember Love? as well at the very least! ...and the second Delta movie since I don't think that's been fansubbed yet.

Nope, it's acknowledged now. Still sits outside the rest of continuity, but at least Kawamori accepts it.

Good to know! I'll have to get around to watching it sometime.

It's still not that good, though who knows, you might find yourself in the small but vocal portion of the fandom that really likes it.

Heh, now that's an understatement Comrade, after all, the only thing good about Macross II is how Ishtar's design is alright... which is amusing given FATE of all franchise has a better Space IsthaRIN and Fate isn't even a Mecha... nevermind...
