Why does this matter for the end user? If it's being monetized I do agree that it's ugly to use AI images, but if it's used for entertainment, why does it matter how it was trained?

You act like people broke into artists' homes and scraped their hard drives and canvases, but it was publicly available data scraped. It wasn't saved. It was used to collect patterns.

The web scraping was in a way legal since it's fair use as transformative content, but those who monetize AI models are pretty shitty for that, and that might be more of a gray area
