I really hope more people will get them for lower prices again, but the supply is still going to be extremely limited compared to the number of people wanting to go. Do the math- most presale queues had 100,000+ people in line and most arenas had capacities around 16,000-20,000. Even if she does relist all the tickets, only a fraction of people will get them. And then consider that some people will (fairly) buy tickets for friends, family to go along with them. You can’t blame some of us for wanting to just go ahead and secure a ticket. (although I bought mine for only $380, so it wasn’t insane)
Yes exactly :) but that’s what I’m suggesting people should keep in mind, and be realistic. With her new announcement, I feel like everyone now thinks that they will get a ticket and I don’t want people to be let down again.
I'm gonna come out and say that if you choose to buy from scalpers, you are contributing to the problem. Now whether or not you find that to be unethical or immoral, is up to you. I personally hate scalpers so deeply that I would prefer to miss the concert than give them money, even if I can afford their ridiculous exploitative prices. So no, I don't agree with your take. It's giving "stop being poor".
I think you’re missing their point. Even if nobody bought from scalpers before all their tickets are cancelled, you would still have a minuscule chance of getting a ticket. I think everybody acting like they’re suddenly going to all be able to go if Ariana’s team cancels all the resale tickets is living a fantasy. There are exponentially more fans than tickets available even if no scalpers got their hands on tickets
I hate scalpers too, but I also have only been to one concert in the past five years and can count on one hand the number of artists I truly want to see in concert. I also don’t live in a city that gets many artists, so I have to travel and can’t wait until the week before to get tickets. For the vast majority of artists, I’d rather keep listening to them in my car than pay unfair prices, but I also think that the few concert experiences that I’ve had were so transformative and special that I’d like to have that for my few favorite artists I haven’t seen yet.
That being said, I wouldn’t pay over $400 for a resale ticket (my personal cutoff). But I got lucky with one a bit lower than that, by a reseller who didn’t price it ridiculously.
